yes well that is the standard way to deactivate plugins when they don’t want to cooperate or if you cannot access wpadmin because of the fault so i don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t work.

you need to have a blank pages to select the wizard is supposed to create them i think for new installs but yeah hit the new page button then repair.

that widget has nothing to do with groups its shows posts from other blogs/sites on your multisite network that wouldn’t normally be visible on the primary blog/site.

for what it’s worth i do believe that will make it into 1.9 which is due november 7th.

have you tested this with the default or 2012 theme to see if it’s theme related?
also not generally a good idea to put full paths urls for your resources on a public site.

not sure might require a plugin but for what it’s worth i already have a trac ticket for adding dynamic links for login/logout/register and i have added those to the ticket:

oh hum the default theme maybe you should a open trac ticket on that one? i believe its still being supported even though theme compatibility is the preferred method. anyone know off hand if the BP default theme still comes packaged? haven’t really done a fresh buddypress install since 1.7.

i think that’s actually more of a theme thing if the container is responsive then the oembeds should also respond. are you maybe not using oembeds?

i would look into wangguard no perfect solution exists currently but that one is certainly one of the best and blocks about 90% of our spam regs.
