i have the same problem started as soon as we switched from single to multi i was thinking it might have had something to do with WangGuard are you using that or no?

well if you have already enabled multisite i don’t think that option will show up so you may need to backtrack a bit. i hope my misread of your desire hasn’t caused any inconvenience.

yeah you can switch the new user role to author rather then subscriber in the general settings.

you need to enable your wordpress as a multisite network:

sounds like you need to hire someone to help you all that is fairly high level custom stuff it think.

or just wait for 1.7 if you can since that would negate the need to customize your theme most likely.

well buddypress has an additional page and some additional features for multisite networks that’s what i was referring to.

they might need to actually create some activity before they will show up in the directory normally registration counts but probably not if you add them in admin.

might also want to consider cleaning out your member list with wangguard or the unconfirmed plugin

yeah i doubt your host provides for enough ram to run both in shared (mind you i’m just speculating).
