In reply to: Please help i want to create a website like this
as far as I know,there is no buddypress or wordpress themes similar to this site.
but it is possible to develop something like this using buddypress.
I’ve developed similar add to fav for my project but haven’t included to show who have added it to fav yet, but the functionality is already there.I’m planing to do that in the future.
I think it’s the best to hire a experienced developer who can develop BP theme like this for you from scratch.BTW this site is awesome !
TX, for sharing.In reply to: How To Remove Sub-Reply Button?you can try this: haven’t tested it…
replace the preg_replace in fns.
`
preg_replace( ‘#(.*)#s’, ”, $content);
`In reply to: wpmu dev – GPL?normally they can’t do anything about it, if you release it
but it wouldn’t be fair since they invest lot’s of time developing those plugins.they can add their own licence only on custom JS ,CSS and Layout(design,images etc).All of the php is GPL.
In reply to: Order/sort activity by “most favorites”that seems to be right.
if you want to order it by most favorites then you have to order it by COUNT.In reply to: Order/sort activity by “most favorites”i’ll check this one tonight ,I’m at work at this moment.
In reply to: Order/sort activity by “most favorites”`
function popularactivities() {$popular_activities = my_get_popular();
foreach ($popular_activities as $favorite_id) {
$activity_id .= $favorite_id->activity_id;
}
return $activity_id;
}$favorite_id = popularactivities();
//custom code here…
`
p.s I’ve not tested this it’s just some logic workaround from all the codes above .
In reply to: How to contribute to Buddypress code developmentfew things I’d like to change :
if you’re looking at your own profile then you should see friends activity as default instead of your own,makes more sense to me.
comments on your own activity should not repeat as activity in your own stream.
allow users to delete and filter comments and @ mentions on their profile. that way users can delete unwanted comments and @ mentions (SPAM)
if user is not your friend then he should not be able to comment on your activity stream.
and of course privacy settings are very important.Few other cool things are ,you may know this user and birthday notifications.
In reply to: How to contribute to Buddypress code developmentNo,I don’t want to prove you wrong,it’s just my opinion.
In reply to: How to contribute to Buddypress code developmentjust another BP child theme?
no man
all those child themes look the same,can’t believe people waste their time on developing that kind of things.The default theme needs improvements as well,lot’s of things makes no sense to me and it’s kinda messy.
Especially activity stream.In reply to: How to contribute to Buddypress code developmenti’d like to contribute by remodeling the default theme
In reply to: Webspace or Server“i have buddypress and 40 plugins running”
40!! really?That can slow your site..
why do you need 40 plugins?
I have two on my site and one of them is BP.
WordPress creates pages on the fly. This means the pages don’t actually exist on the server; they’re created when someone requests a page by clicking on a link on a WordPress powered blog or website. The standard version of WordPress queries the database a number of times to create a page. If there are lots of plugins installed that also have to query the database and output results, this adds additional strain on the servers ability to deliver pages quickly, and therefore decreases the speed a page can load.

In reply to: Allowing specific users to delete spam users?This feature would be great ,that way user can delete unwanted spam on his activity or @mentions .I’ve setup an filter on comments for now to prevent spam posts on activity.
example: if you’re not friend with an user you can’t comment on his activity.looking forward to this feature
In reply to: Avatars are overlapping in member and group page.seem like You’ve fixed the negative top margin, all you have to do is put this code below in to your css file.
ul.item-list div.item-avatar {
float: left;
margin-right: 8px;
}You can also try : http://getfirebug.com/ for Fire Fox ,with this tool you can select and tweak the css and also see what file and which line of code you are editing.
good luck.
In reply to: Avatars are overlapping in member and group page.you have some avatar issues as well.
as you can see in the code below,you’re using negative top margin in your avatar css.avatar {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #F6F6F6;
float: right;
margin: -8px 0 20px 20px;
padding: 8px;
}you can set that to 2px …
for the padding thing just add margin-right on ul.item-list div.item-avatar like in code below
`
ul.item-list div.item-avatar {
float: left;
margin-right: 8px;
}
