what version of MU? and no other changes were made aside from the comments?
and can you set up another sub domain to test?
ok.. it’s not the www and it’s only happening on that one particular subdomain blog?
In reply to: cannot active buddypress pluginnice work,
that’s an odd fix since bp is only dependent on php 4.3..?
In reply to: wp_content disappeared during 2.9.1.1 + 1.2 upgradeHa Ha ~ twas caused by a plugin ~ props @Bowe

In reply to: cannot active buddypress plugina 500 error is generic and it could mean that you have other issues with your host. Wanna share the url or host? try deactivating all other plugins first and try again. I take it that your site is returning after this error?
In reply to: BP on subdomain and new blog registration URLis testing and it appears you’ll need to wp-signup in the root of where the registration page is without hacking the core.

what flavor wordpress and what setup on your server?
In reply to: BP on subdomain and new blog registration URLcouldn’t you just redirect in the page template for the sub install with wp_redirect()
awesome.boone.com/register > boone.com/register.
In reply to: Theme with PODS and BuddyPress will it work???Yeah, you can do that. It will take some work. Just add in all the profile fields you’d like to use for the ‘business listing’ and then display those fields in a directory of sorts using custom template files. Or you could style up a member ‘blog’ theme that is formatted as a ‘listing’ with maybe some edit in place ajax functionality that’ll allow a member to enter their business info and restricts them from doing anything else. That way you could use sitewide queries to build a directory of these ‘listings’. I can’t say there’s a cut and paste sorta plugin to achieve this, but the best place to start would be here and here.
interesting? you can use sunrise.php to support multiple domains with one user table, but I’m not sure how site_url() (BuddyPress) would react to it. Search for wpmuguru. He’s really good with configuring multiple domains/databases on multi-user. It would be interesting to test and with enough custom code, you could make almost anything happen
ps.. you should mark the topic as resolved since this really isn’t a direct support question.
In reply to: Call to undefined function bp_activity_update_meta()In reply to: adding content to the 1.2 default theme homepageendless thread
~ do exactly what andy said and you’ll have a page domain.com/blog that shows a paginated result of all posts.
In reply to: BuddyPress on a Sub Directory Installed WP 2.9.1i’ll test non-multisite in a sec, but i believe it worked smoothly because
bp_core_get_site_path is dependent on ‘if ( bp_core_is_multisite() ) $site_path = $current_site->path;’ in bp-core.php #1514
don’t get me wrong, someone may come along with an easier solution for u to use.
In reply to: BuddyPress on a Sub Directory Installed WP 2.9.1OK ~ i was able to get the bp 1.2 default running perfectly using a subdirectory install with the current wp trunk I am using multi-site ~ with only one modification –
Make sure your rewrite base for .htaccess is correct in your root and these are also correct.
$base = '/~david/your_root/';
define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', '127.0.0.1' );
define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/~david/your_root/' );
..and then add this to you wp-config pointing to your subdirectory wp-content
define( 'WP_CONTENT_URL', 'http://127.0.0.1/~david/test/whatever_your_subdirectory_is/wp-content');In reply to: BuddyPress on a Sub Directory Installed WP 2.9.1uhuhm… actually there are a lot of other places that site_url() is used, so that fix won’t work entirely.
In reply to: BuddyPress on a Sub Directory Installed WP 2.9.1You can just switch out <?php echo site_url() ?> in you header.php and register.php theme files with you blog url.
~ of course it’ll break running the same default bp theme under multiple ‘sites’ (subdomains/directories). This may be a good enhancement ticket so that ~ if ( bp_core_is_multisite() ); $current_site or site_url can run under the blog url and not the site_url
fixed in trunk ~ https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/2620please mark as closed.
In reply to: Call to undefined function bp_activity_update_meta()yup.. right there line 1003? wish I could answer this myself? blind guess wp_cache_set stumbling with bp_init? ~ @JJJ – little help please.
In reply to: adding content to the 1.2 default theme homepagesounds like fun.. Oh, I know the feeling, why do you think I’m up late working? add the ‘blog’ page using the admin, make sure the page slug is blog and then set your ‘blog’ slug in the config and It won’t 404 on you.
In reply to: adding content to the 1.2 default theme homepageit still supports home and index? i think andy was just referring to the new option to set an alternative home page under admin>reading… what are you trying to do exactly?
perhaps i can help. home will always override index. the ‘blog’ slug was used in mu as the default slug for the home blog if you need to use the index.php from bp default under the slug ‘blog’, or any other url for that matter you could just add your custom slugs in the config file.
In reply to: Importing WP eXtended RSS XML file from WP to BPan alternative method if you can’t increase your php memory limit is to grab this plugin and then import/export in chunks by date range.
In reply to: Vote up/down pluginget em hempsworth ~ what would be interesting is a filter to sort by number of likes.
ps.. make sure you have the friends component disabled before you edit your functions file or you’ll get a lovely white screen of death.
turns out writing a conditional for this is difficult since loader.php is setting up the /bp-friends component. If you want a quick and effective way around this error message – just add this to your themes functions.php file
function bp_get_total_friend_count() {}In reply to: New plugin: Include Non-Member Commentsthk u.. working nicely, very clever.. User 0, and I’m a fan of the ugly fix.
