fyi ~ I duplicated this error with trunk so I’ve reopened the ticket. https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/1719
In reply to: Install BP in a Sub-Blogr-a-y~r-a-y once again, you is the man. The Instructions read like you’ve been doing software documentation for years.
In reply to: Component Setup button missingI don’t know about simplescripts, but go here ~
yoursite.com/wp-admin/wpmu-options.php
and you’ll see the option under Allow new registrations.
In reply to: Convert a WordPress Theme to a BuddyPress Theme@odyssey ~ thanks for the nice writeup – one other step that I’ve found helpful in a merge is to call a custom – bp-header.php in the bp dependent files to reduce a bit of weight on the non bp pages, reduce any instances of javascript conflicts, increase the design and flexibility of the BuddyPress pages, and use bp specific functions(<?php bp_page_title() ?> in the alternate header.php ~ so I swapped out the get_header’s, sidebar’s, footers on the default theme with these ~<?php locate_template( array( ‘bp-header.php’ ), true ) ?> or <?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/bp_header.php’); ?>
In reply to: Multiblogs using one buddypress database?@jimi ~ http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/trunk/
you won’t have multiple/duplicate userdata in the db, buddypress will plugin just fine and you’ll be able to enable it on a per site basis for multi-site.
In reply to: Component Setup button missingi’d imagine that simplescripts is using WordPress MU version 2.9 so you need to navigate here yoursite.com/wp-admin/wpmu-options.php and you’ll see the option under Allow new registrations.
In reply to: Install BP in a Sub-Blogthks for the good advice – it’s edited. I can imagine the threads now “I follow these instructions and now my whole site is broke PLEASE HELP!!! “
In reply to: Install BP in a Sub-BlogI’m up for it ~ https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/
~ although it’s my first codex edit (w00t).. so ya’ll may want to review it! *and note that the ‘home’ in the secondary nav is pointing to MEMBERS_SLUG in the codex.
Arturo ~ It isn’t exactly that simple and this question is more appropriate for in the BBpress forums since you’re working with a standalone BBpress install. Have you investigated this bbpress plugin? The code you’re referring to for bp is bp_member_last_active() & bp_get_member_last_active() in bp-core/bp-core-templatetags/ (#250) it requires the global $members_template from within BP and the bp-forums-templatetags. I don’t have the time to investigate a full solution but I went to the effort of testing a couple functions this morning inside of a standalone for you to see if I could come up with an easy solution, but there isn’t one at the moment other than using the functions inside of _ck_’s members online but you may be sacrificing future compatibility in doing so.
In reply to: Forums not working in 1.2 for custom componentthis thread may help – if you’re posting to bb_topics outside of bp via this custom component, then you may need to make some other adjustments.
In reply to: Yet another language problem… perhaps this will help you – http://code.google.com/p/l10n-ru/. I believe that author did the translations for Russian. Also, wpml.org has some tips for translating themes and a bp compatible plugin which may assist in some of the translation of theme elements.
In reply to: groups not accessiblePclerkin, It appears that you have have a mixed bag of a theme going or your currently switching them out – http://hire.archiseek.com/members – this page is from muguru’s buddypress mods to the thematic framework. Perhaps you should clear out your theme directory in it entirety and install a fresh copy of the old theme. Otherwise, my personal belief is that your best move would be to update to bp-classic as this is likely to be more forward compatible with future releases of buddypress.
In reply to: BP Groupblog Error – Call to undefined functionthis is a plugin issue and you might consider asking for help from the plugin author and/or following this thread.
In reply to: Site Wide Activity stream not workingIn reply to: Site Wide Activity stream not workingPHP 5 is fine, but I’m still able to duplicate the error in PHP 4 ~ ticket #1641
@auturo Since I see you and others are posting some new questions in the forum about bbpress integration. perhaps ya’ll should follow Boones’ lead on it regarding (whether to maintain an external installation of bbPress or migrate over). https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-integration-after-bp-upgrade I believe the groundwork for what you need to know is here.
In reply to: How to Create Forums in bbPress Within BuddyPressYou’ll need to add a bb-config.php file to the bp-forums directory in order to access it. You can take a look at this thread.
In reply to: Site Wide Activity stream not workingYes!… i’ve tested that update backwards and forwards.. it will fix your issue.
In reply to: Where are the tags?In reply to: Site Wide Activity stream not workingthks ap that works! ~
@DCCartwright – i think it’s a winner. I think you’ll find a lot of interest in this… Folks have hacked it (mediawiki) together in various ways..and you might benefit from a team effort with some of these guys that have done so.
In reply to: Site Wide Activity stream not workingIn reply to: Site Wide Activity stream not workingandrea may be on to something there, this one’s got me too. I’m having the same issue. mu 2.9.1.1 + rc2406 – i know there had been some ‘time’ server bugs previously, but i’m duplicating easily. Replies within the activity stream itself are fine, but regardless of wp time settings or server settings, the bp_core_time_since is off.
In reply to: title errors on members singleI understand that bp_page_title() will override, but still curious to find root of bp_before_header_meta?
In reply to: Adding page to top navigation menui’m not sure there is a bp_is_page ( contact ) for the function bp_nav_items() so it’s always going to render the class as “selected”. so you could just use css to highlight the list item.
<li class="contact"><a href="http://mysite.com/v2/contact-us/" title="contact us">Contact Us</a>and then add the same css as 1.2 themeul#nav li.contact a:active {background: #f5f5f5; color: #555;}
