In reply to: Activity Stream bug
no ticket needed on 1.2! working fine, but the 1.1.3 error is persistent with 2.8.6 and mu trunk.
In reply to: Activity Stream bughere too, duplicated twice, local and otherwise. 2.8.6 + 1.1.3 is there an existing ticket for 1.2?
In reply to: Friends and Groups for BuddyPress 1.3I spend the better half of the last hour reading these threads related to depreciating ‘friends’ and I’m sold on it. This is very insightful point (from the vantage of a behavioral psychologist). It makes ‘friends’ more powerful and oblique at the same time. Friends will consolidate perfectly into the more powerful groups api while opening up more dynamic (Not “less meaningful”) ‘friend’ models.
In reply to: h-mag.comSimon, that is very nice work!
++1 for DJPaul!

In reply to: bp_activityIn reply to: bad avatar upload urlI think you got it Jeff, I spent hours fighting it last night. it’s not permissions, no plugins.. I also suspect the GD – libjpeg config… don’t have root/shell access to this particular server right now, but I’ll let ya’ll know if it turns up to be anything different.
In reply to: Fatal error and cannot deactivate BuddyPress 1.0.3Make sure you have the themes in the proper locationI haven’t been following these forums too closely recently and I haven’t seen this error, but I went straight up 2.7.1 to 2.8.1 then 2.8.2. try this.. make sure you’re not refreshing a ?action=”*&^^” page.. just the plugins.php, delete out of the mu-plugins folder. refresh.. you should see NO Buddypress. drop it in the regular plugins folder.. refresh and then ‘activate site wide’.
In reply to: Spam despite disabled registrations and Askimetthe fbc_get_avatar() error is from the facebook connect… it’s been addressed somewhere else in the forums. ..it’s been fixed. The spam.. the user “LnddMiles” is not just on buddypress sites, so it’s a spambot that looks for open registrations.
You should add a captcha or math problem to your registration page to divert these.
In reply to: Announcing: BuddyPress StatsI think that’s very nicely done! simple, effective, 300 lines…. publicly +1, forum +1, the api..maybe just some jquery flot
In reply to: Fatal error and cannot deactivate BuddyPress 1.0.3delete the entire Buddypress directory, refresh you plugins panel… upload it again, get your BP 1.0.3 themes in place.. refresh plugins.. activate it. i too.. always forget to deactivate plugins for upgrades ;o
In reply to: Need Help in customizing user homepage…if you just want to hide the widget from non logged in users, just wrap a div around it in home.php. Register the widget area in functions.php in your template …you might want to start here. – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets_Api
In reply to: Need Help in customizing user homepage…you could wrap the <div>’s you want to hide in this conditional

In reply to: Fatal Error on 1.0.1 > 1.0.2 upgradeyou’ll need to manually delete the bppicture-album plugin from your server.
In reply to: Custom Loops for Forum Topicsthat someone was me – https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2893 what I had noted is that sam’s plugins is essentially the same as bp-forums-bbpress-live.php and the only answer (at this point) is to manually construct the bp_forums_get_forum() as you’ve suggested. the problem I was incurring previously was avoiding having to use the forum ID as an argument – when set to null it returns the most recent topics. https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/375
In reply to: BuddyPress plugins and theme not loading@jacoby – I experienced similar cookie issues with brain broken and the trunk – got it working by deleting cookiepath and hash and deleting existing cookies- https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/cookie-integration-problem-wp28-bb-10-rc-2 but since this is about lighttpd I’m sure that hempworth’s problem is the lack of mod_rewrite and this may help – https://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/1961

In reply to: buddypress + p2 themethat should buy you three or so beers at a tavern, I forgot about the pounds/dollars conversion rate.. now if we could only get every other sucker in these forums that just hijacks free code, ask for free help and then complains when it doesn’t work… several of you guys (you know who you are) might have a decent beer fund going.. cheers!
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themekudos to DJPaul, nice job, that does work.. if you gotta donate button somewhere? I’ll buy you a pint of Guinness.
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themeI have worked with this a bit. Tis true.. when posting using the JSON ajax inline posting.. no activity in sitewide. but comments or posting from the backend is a-ok. sitewide tags picks up the inline posts, but not sitewide activity feed. you can see here – http://cackalaki.com/wp-admin/ user: guest – pass: guest. good luck DJPaul… it might help to know that it does pick up the inline posts from p2 in recent blog post.
In reply to: Make access members/groups sections members-onlythis is an easy fix to keep non members out.
in you’re header for your member theme..
<?php if(!is_user_logged_in()){
nocache_headers();
header(“HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily”);
header(‘Location: ‘ . get_settings(‘siteurl’) . ‘/wp-signup.php?redirect_to=’ . urlencode($_SERVER[‘REQUEST_URI’]));
header(“Status: 302 Moved Temporarily”);
exit();
} ?>
make sure to put it above the <!DOCTYPE….
In reply to: Make access members/groups sections members-onlyBurt’s answer on the other thread is Not a hack since it doesn’t touch the core files and works perfectly as a plugin-in or in the /mu-plugins/bp-custom.php file.
