    Hope, there is hope :) It is so good to read that there seems to be movement on the development of this useful plug-in!

    Our whole project is centred around events. In fact, we decided for Buddypress because of bp-events. Unfortunately, we can not contribute to the development in any non-symbolic way. Thus we are sitting, waiting, wishing … – like so many. Seeing this plugin work will be such a blast!

    Same problem here. No notifications are being sent, no new users are being listed in the backend. In the database table “wp_signups” I can see the registrations, in wp_users I can not.

    The only plugin installed is bp-events at the moment.

    (BP 1.1.3, WordPress mu 2.8.6)

    I know what caused the error now: My webhoster did not support mod_rewrite. This however, has to be turned on since there is no option to turn off permalinks in buddypress, or is there?

    This plugin solved the problem for me:

    According to the recently published Buddypress roadmap (https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/) privacy controls will be included in Version 1.2 – no date assigned yet.

    @Jhuskisson it looks like the plugin is still coming along. There is some discussion going on on the developer’s website:

    We had a similar issue and chose a soft solution with CSS so we do not have to worry when upgrading.

    We placed this in the site-wide.css:

    #wp-admin-bar #bp-admin-blogs, #bp-adminbar-blogs-menu {
    display:none !important;
    }

    #my-blogs {
    display:none !important;
    }

    So the functions technically remain but are just not displayed. Works for us.

    Hi there,

    when following the upgrading instructions I forgot to activate the new plugins after uploading them manually. Instead I continued with all the theme changes right away [edit: on the ftp-server].

    After all, I can not log into my MU installation at all – there is just a blank screen. I tried to bring the old files back in place – without success.

    Is there any way that I do not have to re-install all of WordPress MU in order to get back my admin panel??? *argh*

    We keep testing and liking the bp-events. Some questions arose, though:

    Is there a way to show the ending time of an event only when it is set? ( For a workshop knowing the end makes sense, for a party it could be the killer :) )

    How can we turn off birthdays being transformed into events automatically?

    [blockquote]It just sounds your database is out of sync with the plugin code. [/blockquote]

    That was it. I deactivated the plugin V .56, deleted all bp-events tables manually, activated the plugin again and now it works like a charm. Thank you!

    All fields were filled in. I reinstalled both Buddypress to the newest trunk and the events plugin v 0.55. The saving error remains. I cannot create events.

    Could this be a permission issue? bp-events-directory and bp-events.php are set to 755. Are there other adjustments I need to make?

    Just gave it a try with the newest trunk and still experience two errors:

    1 – When saving changes in an existing or saving a new event: “There was an error saving event details. Please try again.”

    2 – When trying to view existing events: “Sorry, the event does not exist.” (http://dev.q-tipp.org/buddypress/events/cafe-bukarest)

    I just upgraded to the latest trunk. When trying to create or change an event I get this saving error:

    \”There was an error saving event details. Please try again.\”

    Does anybody know if this has to do with the trunk? Or are there known solutions?

    In any case: GREAT PLUGIN! It is of so much use to me!

    I am still having this problem. I removed all widgets, set the language back to English, deleted the german .mo and .po files, updated the options, put the language files back into place and last added the widgets again. Still “Who’s online”, “Site wide activity” and “Groups” do not show.

    egerrits, what a good plugin, I appreciate it a lot!

    However, I am running into two issues:

    Time settings: It would be good to make the end time optional. For evening events like a party I usually do not know how long they will last.

    “My Events”: When selecting Events from my personal navigation I am being directed to /members/myname/events/ and “No matching events found” is being displayed. Should not /members/myname/events/my-events/all be the default page?
