Do you think a user role manager like this one may accomplish this?

I found the solution Membermouse does work with Buddypress using their signup form only. But by using an additional field for registration [MM_Form_Field name=’username’]

Thanks Dan for the feedback. But I have tested over 10 membership plugins. ALL of them have pros and cons mostly around payment gateways and all kinds of other things and BP obviously being one of then.

Membermouse is one of the few that is seriously thought out with one of the exceptions I pointed out with BP. But to be honest almost every Membership pluign worth its weight I have tested has this same problem with BP. The ones that worked well with BP in this area lacked in so many other areas.

Building a membership site and not choosing the right membership plugin can be desastorious down the road as this site owner even points out http://shawnhesketh.com/what-would-you-do-differently/

But I will also have a look at the one you recommended

I have pretty much made my choice on MemberMouse because its one of the few products out there that actually have a long list of 7 figure scaable systems back by a team of people that built large-scaled systems for companies like Walmart and others.

Most don’t know if an when you decide your membership plugin is not longer cutting it you loose all the paid members you have worked hard to get because the payment gateways the way they talk to the membership plugins are not interchangeable.

So I am just looking for some simple ways to solve what I was asking so i can move forward.

But I will also have a look at the one you recommended

Thanks for the feedback. No I am not a programmer. Do you know if I needed to have that plugin updated how expensive it will be. I am going to see if I can also Google now that I know what they are calling this if someone else may have one similar.

Thanks but the http://www.bpinspire.com/ I thought was more of a showcase for BP sites instead of a demo play area.

Also, is http://bpdevel.wordpress.com possibly and indication that BP may be moving toward being part of or supported by core WP team in the future?

Its been over a month and the buddypress demo is still not working… Is something going on with the demo? Is BP actually going to keep evolving and being supported? Kind of starting to wonder now.

So does anyone know why is there no working demo?

What all mods did you make to your site and does the video part support video SEO with youtube videos?

I hear what your saying but as I indicated above Yoast wants support to go through the WordPress site and nobody there has responded. https://yoast.com/contact/

Also the more and more I am looking at how Joomla has advanced over the past two years and especially http://www.jomsocial.com/ there does not even seem to even a tad of comparison in features or technology. Even the responsive themes are dynamite in contrast. I must admit Joomla two years ago was week in the theme, seo and plugin and core updates updating from within admin. Clearly these guys have been hard at work. Not the case anymore.

Joomla plugins where always much higher end in terms of features and functionality. One of the reasons I can over to WordPress was I liked the ease of SEO, themes were better at the time, and also I liked having the ability upgrade things from within the admin as apposed to FTP. Not the case now.

I am still evaluating but from what I am seeing on the early look its probably going to be complete change over to Joomla with Jomsocial.

Yes I agree and why I wanted to give WP a try and it is out of the box a much better platform for SEO. But if the project I am building requires social and the only solution is Buddypress and it does not support even basic SEO then its no fit for this project and clearly can’t find support for simple SEO titles working correct here, yoast or any place for that matter. Then its looking like a no fit for this project.

I guess the flipping code tags do not work here either. Not good not good at all. How can community help each other if they don’t work.

Think I am just going to stick with http://www.jomsocial.com/ A product I have used before. It works and works right.

Been using Joomla for many years. I recently started building some sites because I honestly like the how far WP has come over the years. But when it comes to social networking it appears from what I am experiencing there is nothing better then JoomScocial because it has a ton of features that are more mature and just work. There is far to much time needed to spend on building and marketing a site to make its success then to play around with things that do not work.

    Bye…!

    Asynaptic,

I actually found that link the other day and the solution they provided there did not work. I went back just now since you posted it and tried it again and still did not work.

One thing I did however notice this time is that post talks about finding this line of code:

    `

    `

and replacing it with this line of code

    `

    `

However after closer observation what I found is that there is no such line of code in my theme header.php file unless they are talking about one of the many other template files within buddy they have not made clear.

What I have instead in the theme header.php file for title is this line of code:

    `
    |
    `

Notice there is no bp_page_title() in my original code that I am replacing.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Zorro….

    Hugo,

There are many areas but the title and descriptions are not unique for each member or group. It does not take much understanding to see if one builds even a small community of say 5K members if every profile title says Members and every group says Groups that SEO is very bad and Google will spit this out in a heart beat and not value the site very well in rankings. Good SEO practice has got to be unique titles and descriptions old or new days.

I built sites that have over 20K unique visitors per day and been around online full time since 2001. I am new to Buddpress and only been working with WordPress a little under a year. I know this for sure SEO to be as important today as years ago. Also if Buddy is going to be fully integrated with WP it in simple terms it needs to work just as WP does or then its not fulling integrated. Instead it is partially integrated. Like it or not 80% of all internet traffic today begins with a search and if SEO is not a big part of ones marketing plan success is probably not going to be found easily.

Now don’t get me wrong I do admire and appreciate all the hard work done here on this project. I am very detailed and experienced traffic and IM guy that just simply trying to bring these things to front to make better product. I am however no programmer.

So nobody here knows how to get SEO to work properly with Buddypress? This is kind of crazy as as popular as buddpress is nobody knows how to make SEO work with Yoast. SEO is an important part of any internet venture. Without it its pointless today online unless your going to pay for all your advertisement or do affiliate marketing.

I am completely disappointed so far as I spent so much time researching this information and nobody either has the correct and complete information or cares to respond with it. I thought Buddpress was a very well supported compatible community for wordpress.

I may have to find another product all together for this project possibly even outside wordpress as it just does not make sense to build something without SEO in mind.

I posted in his forum for the plugin on wordpress.org. That is where they tell you to ask for support. https://yoast.com/contact/

Posted something days ago off another post that had been there for a while. Created a new post today.

I was hoping there would be some Buddypress pros here that would maybe know the answer to this. I am completely new to BP and only been working with WordPress for about a year. Although been in tech online for sometime. But I am no developer for sure. But a good IM and web strategy guy.,

Has anyone come up with a solution for this with Yoast. I spent the whole day today searching the net for solutions and event tried some that really did not work especially the way they should.

Lets think about this for a min. One of the strong points WordPress has always had is SEO. Clearly SEO is a big part of any serious website trying to grow. Buddpress is clearly the ICON in the social media building of sites for WP. So their has got to be a solution out there some plac as well as their needs to be long term fixes put into place so this is no longer an issue.

I even tracked down this site today and observed many of their sites SEO and how well they were handling things at a member, group level and other areas of BP. http://www.buddyboss.com/the-largest-list-of-buddypress-sites/

Some you could tell don’t have a clue what I am talking about while others clearly found a way. I am also looking at contacting some of the sites that do to see if they could provide a solution.

I did find this product today and even tested it. But to be honest while there has been a a lot of work that has went into it. Its not even in the same league as Yoast for SEO. There are so many other advanced features in Yoast that most people do not understand or use but add additional power for those that truly understand how to leverage SEO. http://themekraft.com/shop/seopress-pro/
