    @shanebp

You need to provide a temporary login if you want people to look at your site.

You can check for theme problems by momentarily switching to a WP theme like 2015 and see if your issues still exist.

Your forum url is odd… Usually it would be something like this:
    /groups/group-name/forum/

If you are running code that changes the url structure, try removing that code.

I’m running Optimizer PRO. Is that theme compatible with Buddypress? The way I have my site built, it would not be easy to change my theme.

I would not know where to find the code in my theme to change it.

Thank you. I thought the odd URLS for Buddypress pages was by default.

    Temporary log-in?

    Changing themes is easy.
    Go to wp-admin > Appearance > Themes

We cannot see your site unless logged.
Nobody is going to register – so create a user and post the username & password here.
You can delete the user later.

I know how to change themes. And I have a register page, as well as a log in and register widget.

@shanebp what if i want to change the default “forum url” creation from something like this:
    /groups/group-name/forum/

    ….to something like:
    /groups/group-name/chat/

    ….?

i’ve gone into the ‘settings’ area and changed the root forum name to ‘chat’ and had ‘topics by freshness’ selected, had it unselected, have changed the default forum to not be the root, etc. etc…..no luck

i heard somewhere about a plugin that could change this default URL path creation to something else, but never heard which plugin it could be

i do NOT want to hack core files — any suggestions?

It might be because you’ve got a username with a space in it, on that site. Also, make sure you change the permalink setting from the default that WP installs with.

@timehubzone — don’t know how a username with a space in it would be relevant; this is not related to usernames or user profiles

‘change the permalink setting from the default that WP installs with’….in what menu? in the ‘forum’ settings…? did that

here’s what the ‘forum’ settings in WP looks like: settings
