BuddyPress 1.6 is now available
Et voilà! BuddyPress 1.6 is now available: http://buddypress.org/2012/08/buddypress-1-6-is-now-available/
BP 1.6 should be a safe upgrade for all BP 1.5.x installations. As usual, you’re encouraged to give it a test run in your dev/staging environments before setting it loose on your live sites.
I like the upgrades but Im not seeing the profile menu in navigation bar and remove admin bar is not working anymore.
I am trying to install 1.6 on a completely new wp site. The installation process just hangs – all files seems to be copied – but the database tables are not created.. any hints ?
I updated, and I now have this – Fatal error: Class ‘BP_Component’ not found in hosting8675918htmlloftwp-contentpluginsbuddypressbp-corebp-core-loader.php on line 15
I try BuddyPress again, and I have three problems in one night. My site is gone, how do I get it back?
Just updated! the new privacy option added to the profile fields are creating confusion in my setup. Is there a way I can disable it?
I requested urgent help on this please.
Thank you very much
@cmatthews Prayer might help! You really should have tested it locally before applying the update to your live site. Go into your server and rename the plugin file buddypress to something else. This may help as a temporary fix.
when uploading a picture, the navigation bar align to the far left. how do i fix it?
How can i use old buddypress admin bar if i dont want to use this new one in 1.6.
Hello and thank you for this update.
BP 1.6 is not working with my website. After updating from the last 1.5 release, I noticed the following issues and I can’t fix them :
– The profile avatar is correctly displayed in the WP bar when browsing in wp-admin section. But not in the mainsite as a visitor.
There is an issue with the avatar, in any page displaying an avatar (including avatar in the WP bar), for groups or any profiles. It is replaced by html code.
When checking the code, there is an obvious code error with a double img tag (<img src="<img src) :
<li id="wp-admin-bar-user-info" class=""><a class="ab-item" href="http://www.moncoachdenutrition.com/members/coachnutrition/profile/edit/"><img src="<img src="http://www.moncoachdenutrition.com/wp-content/uploads/avatars/1/22e21576e76a0c01d85e4e611aae6c19-bpfull.jpg" alt="Avatar de Mon Coach de Nutrition" class="avatar user-1-avatar" width="64" height="64" />" width="64" height="64" alt="Avatar de %s"><span class='display-name'>Mon Coach de Nutrition</span><span class='username'>coachnutrition</span></a> </li>
– Second issue : impossible to edit a profile, as it leads to an inifinite url loop.
Example : If I try to edit the profile through
it leads to a blank page where the url is getting bigger and bigger :
Everything was working like a charm before this update.
Please avoid advices like “you should have tested it before”. I know but Buddypress is just one of the team that I trust the most.
I just wanted to know if someone has an idea about the solution ?
PS website is in French, I don’t know if it is important.
I upgraded and the whole site returned error 500 – nothing was accessible…. Downgraded again to 1.5.7 and it’s back working fine…
I forgot to mention that I also tried to update the avatar with another picture > no difference
I deleted the current buddypress folder and uploaded the files for 1.5.7 – if you need the 1.5.7 files, they are here http://www.sendspace.com/file/ap31nb
After upgraded to version 1.6, I cannot setting anything. The message appeared as “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”
I ran the auto update. Now I cannot access the admin panel for any of my wordpress/buddypress site. I need to be able to approve 30 new members asap! Please help!
I had to make this fix after the update
In bp-core-avatars.php I commented out
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar’, ‘<img src="' . `
onward and added
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar_url’, $gravatar );`
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar’, ‘<img src="' .`
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar_url’, $avatar_url );`
Not sure whether this is correct or not, but my site works.
I do not see any other issue.
I also ran auto update and could not access admin panel or log in as a member on the front end either – just got a blank page with “error”. Had to get my host to restore a back up from yesterday and now all ok.
Seems many people have experienced a similar problem and I am reluctant to upgrade until issue fixed.
Is there reaaly anybody from BuddyPress answering to all these questions?
It’s a shame launching a new update and NOT SUPPORTING us. Plase somebody Answer.
I have upgraded from version 1.5 to 1.6 but nothing’s working.
I decided to uninstall 1.5 and then install 1.6 but no files or option are showing after installing it through ftp since installation directly from WordPress does not work.
What’s this bug and and can I fix this?
After Updating buddypress, admin side throw me this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_displayed_user_id() in C: wamp www wordpress wp-content plugins buddypress bp-core bp-core-template.php on line 1117
solution: For Version 1.6, the database version (bp-db-version in wp_options) changed to 6066, and the Trac revision was 6231.
