Specifically, do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress running? Also, I’m not sure if that’s your browser settings theming the page, or whether you’re running a custom theme. Revert to the default if you’ve customised the theme as a test.
Thanks for the quick reply. This is a stock install of WPMU 2.8.6 in the root directory of the domain, with a stock install (not upgraded) of BP 1.1.3. No other plugins are in use. The theme is the default BP theme (I just changed some colors). However, this error was taking place prior to me changing theme colors.
The site is currently just for testing things, so I can do a complete re-install and see what happens.
When you get to Step 3, does it say anything in your web server error log?
ask your host to activate ” curl ” on your account… this is what need to be activated to let you go thru the avatar selection .
@DJPaul: The only thing I’m seeing even remotely close to this, in the error logs, is several errors writing to the groups table (states it doesn’t exist…which obviously it does). I think I will just wipe it clean and do a fresh install.
@nexia: Curl is active…always has been. I don’t have a problem uploading avatars.
Ok, I just did a complete re-install and I still have the same issue. I deleted the database and all files from the server and did a clean install from freshly downloaded WPMU (2.8.6) and BP (1.1.3) archives. Default theme and no plugins.
Any other ideas?
I would just like to add that a friend of mine is also running BP and his site is having the same exact issue. And he is on a different host, and on the other side of the globe. I am not sure if he’s running 1.1.2 or 1.1.3…waiting on him to email me back.
So…me thinks there’s a bug…
Oh and his site is: http://social.linux-hardcore.com/
