Greetings! I have an active buddypress powered community of about 600 (love it!) but for sometime now I’ve been unable to track down why email alerts when you are subscribed to a forum do not parse special quotes and apostrophes. They come through like this:

Any help in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Are my buddypress related addons/plugins. The Group Email subscription being installed or not doesn’t have any effect on my problem.

# sign and other special characters (shif+number keys) are also not parsing but are being spat out as unparsed html.

what languages are you using ?
what is the weigth of your translation buddypress-xx_XX.mo file ?

I’m only using the default english. I have not made any changes or modifications to anything related to language.

I too am noticing this behaviour, specifically with apostrophes – I haven’t tested other special characters.

I am using latest versions (WordPress 3.4, Buddypress 1.5.6 and BuddyPress Group Email Subscription 3.1.2)
