Error not allowing my BP site to work at all.

    @ethanoltom

    Whenever I try to click on a member in the Members Page, a group in the Groups page or any part of any members Profile using Chrome I get the message that “This webpage has a redirect loop” and “ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS”. When I try to do the same thing on using IE I get “This page can’t be displayed”.

    I have contacted support from my host (DreamHost) and they are saying that everything looks good from their end and think that it may be a caching issue on the client side. I have tried from multiple PCs after clearing the History and still get the same thing. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

    I am running
    WordPress 4.2.2
    BuddyPress 2.2.1
    and my website address is http://www.ethanolnetworks.com

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi @ethanoltom,

    don’t double post (this-webpage-has-a-redirect-loop) as it doesn’t bring faster or any answer. Also, searching for similar issues before asking is good practice.

    So please, read here and follow advices. You’re not the only one whith this issue. For now, deactivate also your theme, any plugins except BuddyPress and if you use a cache plugin, clear it previously.
    Concerning the forum rules, please read here. If you use some custom functions, remove them too while testing.

    Aside, i visited this profile. I would recommend you review your email strategy, it’s not a good idea to show it publicly.

    Thanks @danbp,

    Looks to be plugin related so am pursuing with their support.

    Apologies for the double post, I felt my subject line in the first post was not descriptive and didn’t know if/how I could change just that part of a previous post.

    The email strategy is that they are defaulted to only be visible to the user, but the user is allowed to override the visibility setting if they so choose. The user you looked at is a vendor who is trying to generate business through their membership and so wants the site users and others to see this generic contact address.
