    Classifieds (Plugin)

    • Privacy Settings

    As the admin, you can decide whether or not to allow public viewers (visitors that are not logged in) to view the classified listings on your social network.

    • Customizable Categories and Fields

    As the admin, you can categorize the classified listings for your users. For example, you can create categories such as “For Sale” and “Wanted” each with subcategories such as “Furniture” and “Electronics.”

    • New Classifieds Email Notification

    As the admin, you can customize the email that is sent to the user when a new comment is posted on one of their classified listings.

    • Classifieds Listings

    As the admin, you can see all the classified listings posted by your users. You can monitor and search these classifieds to delete offensive material if necessary. As the user, you can view your own listings, upload photos, as well as browse the marketplace.

    • Listing Settings

    The user can choose to be notified by email when someone posts a comment on any of their listings.

    • Comments

    The user can comment on other classified listings or send a private message to the seller.

    • Classified Listing Photos

    Users can upload a photos and post them alongside their classified listings.

    I had to rewrite lot of stuff since BP 1.1 and buddypress “groups” came with a lot of changes (and I used “groups” as start point from my component).

    But so it is better now :)

    I think i’ll put a first test version online this week.

    It begins to be quite good :)

    Now you can grant a user moderator for all categories or just for some of them.

    Looks great, when will it be released for further testing?

    When checking a classified detail, I getthe following error:

    @ grossbouf: i’m sorry we did not find a way to co-operate on the development of this…

    we ended up coding our own stuff …

    we built a bp component on top of the existing awcp plugin

    I can’t wait for this plugin to be released.. I want to use it for something else then posting classifieds but I think it will suit my needs fine :D

    @Grossbouff: we are definitely willing to share the code – and the client is fine with this. Anyway, there’s a lot of stuff which might need to be polished: in fact it was developed for a quite customized environment, and will not work out of the box.

    We’re currently migrating riders.dk and all plugins from bp 1.0.x to 1.1.3

    I’ll try to continue developping this, even if I can’t work as much that I did because I have a lot of work actually.

    I started to get it ready for BuddyPress 1.2 : It seems that no major rewriting is needed.

    It is getting to work quite fine…

    I’ll continue posting news about this into this topic.

    Ok, I think this time a first version will be finally ready in some days…Let’s say… about one week I think ! A bunch of hours…

    For WPMU+BP 1.2.

    When WordPress 3.0 will be released; it will also work for single WP+BP.

    First version will not support picture galleries.

    Currently only WPMU but it is planned to be WP-compatible soon after WP3 is released.

    So I know classifieds uses another blog for all of its posted data though going into wordpress 3 I think that it would be better if classifieds used the new post type function.
