How do I amend template files so that non-members have to request membership for a public group?
I am developing a child theme for the bp-default theme. The site is for an organisation who would like the content of all groups to be visible to members (i.e. logged in users) of the site (and to show up in the ‘All Members’ activity tab), which means that the groups need to be public groups. However, they would like members to still have to request membership of groups (as is the case for private groups) and to be prevented from posting/editing content in the groups until they are a member.
I have been informed by Boone Gorges (@boonebgorges) that this would be achievable by modifying certain template files, but I’m not sure what changes I would need to make.
Would someone be able to help with this?
