I have set up my forums through groups registered and I am realizing it is making it complicated for users to post. How can I go about and make a forum just like this one here on your buddypress site? I think it would work much better for our users.

you have different choices to set up forums.
Sitewide forum (like bp.org)
Group forum
or both

Yeah I got group forums right now….Wonder how I can install over the top without messing with those forums

@thapharm were these group forums set up in previous version of BuddyPress (1.6.5 below) or were your group forums set up per instructions in link provided by Chouf1? If set up in BP 1.6.5 below using the old internal forums, then you have the option to keep it as is and then install bbPress plugin for the sitewide forums or port over the group forums into the bbPress plugin forums per https://codex.buddypress.org/user/buddypress-site-administration/migrating-from-old-forums-to-bbpress-2/ Whatever option you take, always backup database and server files so that you can always revert if something goes awry.

Is there a way to migrate usernames so they dont have to log in to the forums seprately? So it will allow them to post without logging in again to the forums?

@thapharm logged in members of BuddyPress install do not have to log in again to post in forums. WP/BP versions? How did you set up your forums? https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
