missing stylesheet

  • After a manual install of buddypress, I went appearance / themes and found this message at the bottom of the page:

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description
    buddypress Stylesheet is missing.

    Ideas anyone?

Try activating Twenty Ten theme and see if the BuddyPress theme fixes itself.

Make sure you have a /bp-themes/bp-default/ folder complete with stylesheet in your /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/ folder.

If you don’t, manually reupload the BuddyPress plugin to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder:

I too have the same issue. I did what was suggested all to no avail. I have not been able to fix it.
I did the manual re-install into the pluggin directory and I cannot get it to undo itself.
What is the name of the style sheet please? I included all the files into the pluggin directory, so what have I missed?
Thanks so much for your help

@dougison WP and BP are free downloads, perhaps you mean you’re paying for your hosting?

In any case, did you use the auto-install of BP? Then try to upload BuddyPress plugin again via FTP or cPanel. After activating BuddyPress, you should see the bp-default theme when you go to dashboard > Appearance > Themes.
