Need Local Avatar not Just Gravatar

I need my users to be able to create a local avatar (or gallery for that matter) for my Buddypress site: http://activelifelinx.com
I’m using a the Wild Community Theme from Theme Forest. I’ve contacted the developer, he simply says it’s integrated with Gravatar.com.
How can I allow my users to create their own avatar/profile picture?
Thus far I haven’t found a plug-in for this. I suspect it’s a PHP coding issue.

it should allow you upload avatars no need to use gravatar unless they have a gravatar account and have not uploaded a custom one.

As Ben said, BuddyPress has local avatar uploading AND gravatar intergration built in.
Is the theme removing core functionality?

Additionally, you can use a plugin for photo gallery features (there are loads. I tend to use BPmedia by rtCamp these days)

Yes, the theme is disabling this basic functionality.

Do I just delete this code…? Suggestions?
