Register and Activate Pages Are Redirecting

    @rhanna1461

    Hi, I’m brand new to Buddypress and I’m trying to create my registration and activate pages. I’ve selected the appropriate pages for each one and clicked save. Then, I viewed the page and it’s just redirecting to my home page.

    So, changed the drop down to tie to a different page. Still nothing. However, now the 2 original pages are working again.

    So essentially, once I link the registration and activate pages to specific pages, it setups a redirect. I remove them, and the redirect goes away.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

    I’ve been using Buddypress for months now with no issues, but just today I began having the same issue. I’ve been trying different ways to get around the problem for almost an hour now and haven’t found a thing.

    If I had this issue, the first thing I would do is go to permalinks setup,
    make a not of the current permalinks setting.
    change the setting to something different.. anything.. save.
    (make sure it saved and that if you scroll down the page there is not a weird WP error saying your install does not have proper permissions to write to htaccess and you need to make it manually)

    then change it back to what the permalinks are supposed to be.
    save.

    Fixing a similar re-occuring problem I have every other time rtmedia’s plugin updates.

    @passini – have you tried it using a “default theme” like 2014?

    If so and the problems persists, I would try deactivating all other plugins, and try with your setup running only with buddypress activated and a default theme.

    If making those changes fixes your issue, then you would know that it’s possibly your theme or one of the other plugins causing a conflict.
