Registering New Users to a specific blog (subfolder)

    Hello there, first post:

I have searched and fiddled around for a way to register new users automatically to the blog they selected “register” in.

This is what happens: I have a WPMU + BuddyPress installation with 2 blogs: “/” & “community”. “http://mysite.com/community” is where buddypress is running perfectly and “http://mysite.com” is the regular institutional website.

When someone visits the buddypress installation on “community” and selects to register, he is redirected to “http://mysite.com/wp-signup.php” and therefore gets signed up at the main blog (“/”) and not to “community” as I intended. So I have to manually change each registered user in the wp-admin interface every time…

I know there were a few subfolder issues (as was my case) but now everything else works seamlessly…

Any pointers of what should I change in order for this to work smoothly?

    Cheers!

Your users have to register with wpmu and that means the main blog initially. If all you want is for them to be registered users in your community blog automatically then try this plugin: http://code.ourcommoninterest.org/2009/01/02/community-and-group-blogs-in-a-can/

Activate and configure that plugin on your community blog and when your users visit the blog for the first time they will become registered users at whatever level you set in the admin screen for the plugin.

I think that is what you want.

Thanks a lot! I’ll give that a try and let you know if it works!
