Registration process

I have a BP site for quite a few years now, but I’m totally unhappy with the number of people finishing the registration process. I do require a good profile picture which people can upload with Facebook, LinkedIn, the computer’s camera and a simple computer upload. Still, it seems that many people experience problems with this part of the process. Do you maybe have some technical advise or maybe something related to design or user interface? Anything to get the numbers up. Thanks so much in advance!

The best advice I can offer is to make the registration page as simple as can be, and then ask for more info later, once the user is registered. If the registration page is hard, the user has to _really_ want to join to go through with it.
