I’ve caught wind of the spam and am away on holiday until Jan 3. I’ve pinged a few people about looking into it since I can’t directly.

Sorry. I know it sucks. One of my personal goals for the beginning of 2011 is to fix up buddypress.org so we can have some peace and quiet from spammers.

It’s being looked in to, and I’ll report back if/when there’s progress made.

@JJJ: First off, thanks.

Secondly, is the thought to hook into Akismet for the various actions within Buddypress? Wonder if this is served best by making the existing Akismet plugin Buddypress aware since the same effort needs to happen with standalone bbPress, etc.
