Hey ray,

Thanks for the post, unfortunately, I already did the upgrade this morning and didnt check the box for the toolbar. How do i bring back the wizard so i can check the do not change toolbar box? i tried to delete buddypress and reinstall it but it didnt bring the wizard back.

@charlietech Have a look at the link @r-a-y added you’ll see the code you can add to your /wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php file (if you don’t already have one and this is your first time adding custom code, just create the file through your FTP client)

`// disable the WP Toolbar and revert back to the BuddyBar
add_filter( ‘bp_use_wp_admin_bar’, ‘__return_false’ );`

I’d like to go back to the previous bar as well, but that didn’t work for me. I created a blank bp-custom.php file with that code in it. It didn’t work for me. Also, as someone mentioned in the other thread, i did get at least more response from putting it in the plugins directory, instead of the wp-content directory, but that was on the code showing in the header, not a fix.

Any ideas?

@bmk0220 – mrjarbenne was incorrect; bp-custom.php belongs in /wp-content/plugins/. You need to wrap the code with opening and closing PHP tags. Read the corresponding article here:
