I suggested this to BuddyPress Profile Privacy’s Jeff Farthing. A “let admin decide” option could have a radio button field for verified and unverified. I wish it would be available in a new update.

Seems like a simple enough plugin to create. I’m not sure it makes since in the privacy plugin though.
I don’t think this should be part of Jeff Sayre’s plugin as this has nothing to do with privacy.
Would work well as a simple plugin like techguy says… should be very easy to put something together with usermeta.
@r-a-y is correct. This is not an issue of privacy. Privacy is about offering users the ability to control access to their data.

What abut using one of the member roles plugins? Then adding a code to a members profile that shows a check if they are verified or added to a certain role?

Thats one but i’m not sure it will work with BP. My thought was you could create a “verified” role and then do an if statement for some code to show a verified check badge.
I may make a plugin that adds a verified check.
@modemlooper I would need a plugin with this simple function, I go on the user page and with the admin options if I want I can select “verified account” and an image will be displayed on the member page.
Any leads on how I could write this ?
ok created this but made it so you verify via the WP backend at the bottom of each user page there is a check and it will show a little verified in profile header. I’ll upload it to the plugin repo after I create a check graphic.

I think I may extend this a bit to allow admins to define user types. So they could add more than just verified. like a guru if it’s say a niche site for beer and a user is very knowlegeable in that topic.

Let me rephrase that, it disappeared off of WP will there be a updated plugin for this in the future or a working one now with the current buddypress
