BuddyPress 1.2.9
July 4, 2011 in News
Available immediately is BuddyPress 1.2.9. This is a bug-fix release of the 1.2 branch to ensure full compatibility with WordPress 3.2. (Note: This does not use the new bbPress 2.0! We’re working on it!)
BuddyPress 1.2.9 includes fixes related to the new version of jQuery (1.6.1) that comes packaged with with WordPress 3.2. These changes affect the javascript and ajax behaviors in the bp-default theme. You can read more about them on the WordPress development blog. If your BuddyPress site runs bp-default (or a child theme of it) you’ll need to update to BuddyPress 1.2.9 immediately after updating to WordPress 3.2.
Questions? Let us know in the comments or in the support forums, and stay on the lookout for an early preview of BuddyPress 1.3 sometime in July!
Download BuddyPress 1.2.9 from WordPress Extend or BuddyPress.org.

Thanks for all of the hard work that the team continues to put into BuddyPress. Very thankful and appreciative of the efforts.
For anyone reading this, if you have not already, be sure to donate some funds to the individual developers that put in their own time!

If you’re experiencing JavaScript issues in your WordPress admin area or in your theme, check the JavaScript that is in your theme and any BuddyPress plugins you might be using. Use a tool like Firebug or inspector to track them down.
Also try clearing your browser cache for that site, as some browsers are particularly fond of holding onto cached versions of JS files.
A few people have pinged me directly with issues, and the above steps resolved all of them so far.

Its great news and exciting surprise! Kudos to the team.
Since I/we have been waiting for a new site, will like to know
- if there will be some drastic changes in BP 1.3
- will it integrate “Like” and “Reply” into the actual blogs, for example it is confusing to users when they Like a blog post in the activity stream, it does not show up in the actual post, and vice versa there is no Like button in the blog post or comments which can be clicked to update the Likes in activity stream. Similarly, replying to a blog post from a stream is confusing as this is not added as a comment in the actual blog post.
- Will the Post Update textarea box be integrated so that there are tabs to post blogs and pictures too from the same page.

well, frist, great job guys.
I dont know where post this, but, here we go:
1 – When you mention to some user or when you reply in some comment, its not like a notification, it will be nice to get this two things as notifications… i think it’ll be interesant notificate to the user, that someone has mentioned him or commented on his profile, you know?
2 – When you mention some user in a comment on a post/page (of the main blog), you go to http://site.domain/members/user/activity/mentions/ or you go to http://site.domain/activity/ >> @user Mentions(X) , well , it doesnt display the mention that was done on a page/post, show all the mentions , but dont show the mentions that you do on the blog (on the pages or on the posts), you know what i mean?
sorry for my english , thanks for reading!.

Hello.
I noticed that after upgrade to WP3.2 and BP 1.2.9, all the ajax functions stopped working with any theme I tried including default BP theme. I have done basic tests such as inactivating all plugins except BP but no use!
If for example, I try to post a reply, the reply box does not appear. If I try to post a short message etc using whats new wall, i can see ajax rotating but nothing appears in the river. Then if we refresh the page completely using browser, we can see this update. Same thing if we delete anything, it probably deletes but it does not take affect immediately. We have to refresh the page then we see that the comments etc is deleted. Same for sorting the members, like most active, most recent etc. It does not sort at all. Any idea how to fix it?
Thanks
