The first beta release of completed BuddyPress components and themes is now available via the download page.
Each component and theme in this beta stage is feature complete for its 1.0 version. The purpose of the beta is to weed out any bugs not found in the pre-release stage and ramp up the plugins to production quality.
If you install BuddyPress and give it a test run, we’d really appreciate your feedback and bug reports in trac. You can also find a list of known bugs.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make this first beta a reality. It’s been ten months of hard work to get to this stage. We’re almost there, there’s only a little bit further to go.
Congrats on the beta release.
In the instructions “Installing BuddyPress from the Combo Download”, I think the last line in the fourth point should read “wp-content/member-themes/buddypress-member” and not as “wp-content/member-themes/buddypress-home”.
Is that Correct ?
Thanx alot for this beta release! I’ve done an update a few minutes ago and it’s lookin’ good.
There is a little bug at installation howto text on https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-buddypres-from-combo/
Here’s wrong text:
“You should now have the following folder locations “wp-content/themes/buddypress-home” and “wp-content/member-themes/buddypress-home”
Here’s right (I think so;)
“You should now have the following folder locations “wp-content/themes/buddypress-home” and “wp-content/member-themes”.
Yay!
Gogogo buddypress! ^_^
Only one BIG wish for future:
Please, care a bit more about localization…
Congratulations! Eventually we all can see something rather full and slamost bugfixed. Be waiting for BuddyPress 1.0, not the BuddyPress 1.0b1.

Hi Andy!!!!!
You have done a great job on Buddypress!!!!!!
My question is should we wait until WordPress MU 2.7 is released before starting a buddypress site?
Thanks!!!!!!
Tim
@Badsmiley @Arun: Thanks for noticing the typo, it’s now fixed.
@Jehy: If you find places in the code that are not translatable, please report them as they are easily missed.
Another two things to correct.
1. The link to buddypress blog is not there from the buddypress codex.
2. The “Note” at the top of buddypress codex still reads “BuddyPress is still pre-release. The first official release is scheduled for the end of 2008.” and not pointing to the download page.

What’s up all? I just finished building a new website called Watch Dexter Online, and was hoping that I could get a little help from those of you that are familiar with WordPress. I wanted some suggestions for plugins that will help with SEO. Please post your recommendations when you get a chance.
