The gravatar upload works for me with bp 1.7.2. I can click on browse and then the upload button. Once uploaded I can crop the image.

WordPress and buddypress use a system of language files which can be edited with a special editor such as poedit. Although there is a bit of a learing curve it should be easier than editing individual text strings…

That was a similar bug in bp v1.7.0 which was fixed in v 1.7.1 see: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/white-line-under-head-menu/#post-163065

You could try the ‘temporary’ fix for that bug: http://pastebin.com/sSBGjPNi in your child theme’s functions.php file…

Using firebug on the page you refer to, I can see various errors in the console tab.

Using the html tab you appear to be trying to load different versions of jquery, but not the current version ( 1.8.3 ) which is included with wordpress….

Presuming http://themeforest.net/item/onecommunity-buddypress-theme/3713046 is your theme, have you tried upgrading it to the latest version – v1.1.9 ?
