would it be possible to have a shout to both admins and mods?
I thought about that but there’s a slight problem using @admin or @administrator as a command. Most BuddyPress websites use these usernames as their main user account. To avoid notifying the main site admin, we need to think of a different command to use for this group.

I have no idea if this is just a issue in my site, but it’s kinda confusing because the “@admin” does not mention the administrator, the “@gunju2221” on my site does, because thats my WP username. It’s funky!

When the admin account is created for buddypress, the @mention is “ @admin“.
I’m not sure what this means. BP doesn’t create any admin accounts. It uses the same accounts as your WP installation. As long as you have WP 3.0+, you should have had the opportunity to select your admin login name when you signed up. […]

@r-a-y, or any other, I noticed there is a slight flaw in buddypress, for future versions. When the admin account is created for buddypress, the @mention is ” @admin“. Well @admin does not mention the administrator, because the username of the admin account is different than ” @admin” when creating wordpress, so when any user is mentioning admin, it […]

@orenshmu Just posted in the Review section for your ‘BP plugin’;
We really dislike misrepresentation. It says FREE very obviously, and of course turns out to be a ‘spam plugin’ when you look into it, as the gallery hosting has to be paid for.
We feel that BuddyPress.org @admin should ban these plugins unless they tell the truth up-front.
