at its most basic, switching sidebars is usually changing the floats in the css.
In reply to: Positive Feedback: Did you see the theme Aristos?Forgot a link: http://connect.studiopress.com/crystal/members
Not accusing anyone of anything, just noticing similarities.

One of these days I’ll need to poke around your install (again) and see why they keep getting in.
In reply to: BP MENU LINKS NOT WORKINGhttp://massagebournemouth.com/wp/index.php/wp/uncategorized/
That doesn’t even work either, so it’s not just BP links that aren’t working, you’ve mucked up your permalinks somehow.
In reply to: BP MENU LINKS NOT WORKING“and there is no such directory…”
t will not make a directory on the server. They are *virtual* the same way pretty permalinks work.
@ppdesigns please give a link to your site. You don;t move the bp templates to the top level folder of your install. This is all *theme* based. Any templates files you move from the default BP theme go in the theme you want to use.
And yes, buddypress is what I would call intermediate usage.
In reply to: Positive Feedback: Did you see the theme Aristos? It looks somewhat similar to the Crystal theme from StudioPress.
In reply to: Buddypress on BuddypressNo.
By default there’s one buddypress for the entire network or is you have multiple networks, it;s the same thing everywhere.
What the plugin above helps you do is have a second (or even third) network and be able to activate buddypress again on that network with new users and different activity.
In reply to: Plugin commanderIsn’t this more a multisite in general question?
Also, to me, those plugins do two different things.
In reply to: Call to arms – Own your task@djpaul needs codex / documentation is another trac tag I follow over in core WP. This would be for anything that requires a codex entry to explain.
In reply to: BP MENU LINKS NOT WORKINGAre you using the default buddypress theme? If not, you need the bp template pack to put the bp template files in your theme. that’s why they won’t work.
In reply to: Registration email not being sentTyr one of these plugins to change the mail-from address so the users’ email providers will deliver the mail.

In reply to: Plugins…the bane of my life at the moment“I installed a forum plugin and activated it and did all the amendments…but how do you add it to say the forum page.”
Unless you wanted a completely separate forum, you didn’t need to add it separately with a plugin.
The BP forums link goes to the internal forum that is built in and attached to groups.
In reply to: Buddypress Child ThemesAnd a link to your site will help.
“it still ain’t happening.” isn’t much to go on to help troubleshoot.
In reply to: Looking for a freelance developperAnd the sub sites work fine?
In reply to: Registration email not being sentCheck your mail logs on the server to see if it was actually *sent*. Not being sent and not being received are two different things.
In reply to: users can’t create their own blog pagesIn reply to: Post contents not showing in wordpress installation.A link to your site please?
In reply to: Having trouble making Buddypress workIt’s automatically created at yourdomain.com/register/. If you;re logged in, you won;t see it… because you are already registered.
In reply to: Is your Buddypress script slow too?@4elle then start saving up for a VPS.
In reply to: How to import Groups / Forums / Topics / MembersHas anyone tried just exporting the db tables from one site and importing them to another?
In reply to: Joining a buddy press site?Everything (content/settings) is saved in the database. So if you export it from the old site and import it on the new, you have all your content.
Did you enable multisite? Yes or no.
In reply to: Activating existing user accounts in BPShe’s talking about existing members not showing up. Which they don;t until they come back to the site & log in after BP has been activated.
In reply to: Activating existing user accounts in BP“how can I manage user profiles as SuperAdmin, thru the backoffice?”
You don’t. You fill in your user profile on the * front end*.
“it seems to recognize that there are 22 members altogether, but they will not show up in the list and are not searchable. “
Those members have to come back and log in again. Then BP will show them.
Did you find the “sync user profiles and member profiles” option?
