@neosmedia
Sorry for the delay in getting you set up for the support forum. It was the weekend after all
I’ve already made you a member of the Mapology group. Please post your questions over there. Thanks!In reply to: Mapology is available@neosmedia
Please register a free acccount at http://shabushabu.eu with the same email you used to buy the plugin. Once you registered I will make you a member of the Mapology support group. I am sorry, but we cannot give support here on the BP forums.In reply to: Mapology is availableOk, but groups can have their own coordinates which also get shown on an overview map.

Can you explain a little bit more how this should work? Users can set their location already, but why would you associate your location with a group?In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsAh, ok. I’ll have a look. Please use our support forums. Any reports and/or requests will get noticed a lot earlier.
In reply to: Buddyvents 1.2.2@takeo
Nope, you won’t have to pay for access to the support forums. That’s for our other (free) plugins. You’ll need to register for a free account and then I’ll invite you to the Buddyvents group.@dlabbe
Not sure what the current rate is actually. As far as I’m aware, PayPal will display the USD amount before you hit the pay button. The domain input is just for our information. We like to know what cool projects users of Buddyvents come up with. If you haven’t got a domain yet, just write ‘n/a’ or something, then you can let us know later.In reply to: Buddyvents 1.2.2@boomerang
Please post support requests on our forums at http://shabushabu.eu in the future. You need to register with the same email address you used to buy Buddyvents. Thanks!In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groups@gregfielding
What do you mean that filtering doesn’t work? Just checked on the test site and it does
Group filtering doesn’t until 1.3, but activity filtering works good.In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsAlright, I’ve decided to port over some things from Buddyvents, like the grid view, for the first release. It will be available in our shop someday today (17.11.) for the price of EUR 50 net.
For all current features and features that will make it in over the course of v1.x/v2.x you can have a look here:
http://test.shabushabu.eu/2010/11/mapology-readme/This is a test site, so you can register and try it on for size before deciding if it fits your needs.
Same as with Buddyvents, support is inclusive of the price for as long as the version stays 1.x. For v2.0 it will have to be purchased again at half price.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsProximity filtering is in for activity items. The code for groups is in as well, but the necessary filtering options aren’t present in BP 1.2.6, so it’ll only become active for BP 1.3. It’s in trunk already.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsJust need to add the members overview map, then I’ll release it. More features will be added later.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsIt’ll be available at http://shop.shabushabu.eu. Mapology adds overview maps for members and groups by default.
I’ll post a message here on this thread as well once it’s available.
We have also just included theme templates for the custom post type and the custom taxonomies.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsThe latest dev version of Mapology adds a custom post type called Locations. This can be used to add generic information for a certain location (kinda lika a wiki), rather than more detailed information through a blog post. It also adds custom taxonomies (continents/countries/areas) for posts, pages and locations and coordinates for pages and locations rather than just posts.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsEven though it still needs some testing on Google Earth, KML files for each route can be downloaded now from a single route view. The plan is to eventually build a sitemap of all KML files that can then be submitted to Google.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsThe second coding round for routes is in. Routes can now be edited, activity comments can be posted on routes and routes can be included in blog posts (depending on the privacy setting). Also, coordinates can now be attached to blog posts and a map can then be displayed on the actual blog post. For both post and route maps, a shortcode creator has been integrated into the Add Media button on write/edit screens in the backend.
In reply to: Introducing JobBoardrThere’s a functioning version we’re running on a BP 1.3 site, but there just isn’t enough time to get it ready to work with BP 1.2.6. Expect it shortly after BP 1.3 has been released.
In reply to: Buddyvents 1.2.2@boomerang
Yup, that’s possible. On the settings page there’s a google map where you can set a marker to the default location. It’s also possible to set the zoom and map type.Postcodes aren’t required. Anything the user writes in the location field gets passed to Google and the closest location gets returned. So the more details, the more accurate the result will be. You could only write “Uzbekistan” and the location of that user will be right in the middle of it.
Once you have set your plugin up as a root component, you can write your own screen function, like so:
`function mapo_directory_setup()
{
global $bp;if( $bp->current_component == $bp->mapology->slug )
{
$bp->is_directory = true;do_action( ‘mapo_directory_setup’ );
bp_core_load_template( apply_filters( ‘mapo_template_directory’, ‘maps/index’ ) );
}
}
add_action( ‘wp’, ‘mapo_directory_setup’, 2 );`I use something like the above in one of my plugins. You’ll have to adjust the if statement to your needs.
So basically you have different screen functions for your members pages and your directory page (as you should
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groupsAlright, the first coding round for routes has finished and the results can be seen here:
http://test.shabushabu.eu/members/admin/maps/routes/Creating and displaying works already, editing routes not yet. There’ll also be activity comments for routes at some point, better navigation and loads of other stuff…
bp_core_new_nav_item adds to a users menu, not to the root. You want to look into the function `bp_core_add_root_component`. The skeleton component is a good place to start. Also, have a look at how the various BP components handle it.

RSS feeds will be easy. I’ve added it to the features listIn reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groups@en3r0
No discount for buying early, sorry
Actually, it’ll be more than the EUR 20 I said earlier. Closer to 50. I know that’s a lot, but I think it’ll be worth it (it’s actually not that much considering the amount of hours I put into it
Routes for users will be a feature right from the start, for example, with an awesome ajax-driven UI. It’ll be available on test.shabushabu.eu for testing within a couple weeks (release end of this month). I’ll upload a new version from time to time, so it’ll be worth to check once in a while to see what stage the plugin is at.
In reply to: Mapology – Adding maps for users and groups@gregfielding
Not at the moment, but it’s certainly possible.@teebes
kml file upload is planned at some stageIn reply to: German Language file SIEI haven’t come across one so far.
In reply to: Profile Fields for GROUPSThere are hooks in place where form fields can be added and validated. You’d need to code it, though. Or get it coded. Just have a look through the group templates and you can find quite a few. For validation hooks you need to look in bp-groups.php.
