Oh and while I was originally using BP2.5.2 i’ve updated to the latest version now but the issue is still the same. WP4.5.3. Theme Kleo.

If anyone can offer any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Sharmavishal,

    Thanks for your reply.

Can I ask how many users you have on your sites? Hundreds? Thousands? Looking through the backend it looks fine, but if there’s suddenly high volume of traffic i’m not so sure how easy it will be to manage that much activity.

Also you mention plugins, however when I look through the WP directory there’s a number of plugins but many either haven’t been updated for a while or have few installs. Which doesn’t fill me with much confidence. Do you have any you can recommend?

    Thanks,

    Hi Hastig,

Thanks for your reply and apologies for my delayed response. Another project took priority.

I tried adding the code you gave me but it didn’t work. Got a 404 message. I did put it where you stated though.

To clarify, do I need to add this to the bp-custom.php or directly in the html with the link?

I’ve also looked at a widget called BuddyMenu but it hasn’t been updated in 3 years and doesn’t seem to allow me to customise much.

Any further help would be much appreciated.

    Hi @mcpeanut,

    Thanks for your reply.

I’ll look into some of those plugins and report back if they fix it!

    Thanks

I’m using the 7.2 theme. I’ve tested it on Twenty Fifteen and it displays again in basic format. When logged in as a new member there is a join now button at least, but the styling is still very plain compared to the documentation screenshot – no avatars or colour – as per my previous screenshot of my site.

The page is also called titled ‘Groups’ rather than ‘Groups directory’ – but i’m sure i could always change the name in WP settings.

I’ve also got a problem with Activation emails but i’ll need to create a new thread for that.

    Hi Henry,

Yes i have done that, but there’s still no option for users to join groups, nor anything other than very basic styling.

Whereas the documentaiton shows a ‘group directory’ which looks like this

I have no group avatars, join now buttons or anything like that. Do we actually have to create all those basic features manually every time? I would have thought it should be automatic…?

    Thanks
