Have you went to dashboard/settings/general and clicked the box beside Membership that anyone can register? In reply to: problem with account@nirat
You need to give more details. Have you setup your localhost to send out real emails? Are you saying there was an email received? Be clear, consistent, and specific! Include your install info etc.!In reply to: buddypress.org login brokenActually clicking anything in the “My Account” menu is now redirecting to the buddypress.org home page. Strange happenings!
In reply to: buddypress.org login brokenThere is other things out of wack like clicking notifications, and viewing profiles just takes you to buddypress.org homepage. At least that is what it is doing on my end!
@asdevargas
I removed the github version in favor of using the version in the official WP repository which has been improved. You can get it here:

Are you using WordPress SEO plugin in conjuction with this fix from BuddyDev:
It also helps having links to your site from other popular social networks as well as linking back. I am not an expert on SEO I just know what worked for me in the past.In reply to: Buddypress Registration Page is not working@gcarlos8377
When troubleshooting it is wise to deactivate “ALL” plugins other than BP and maybe bbPress and reverting too either the Twenty Twelve theme or bp-default. Do not selectively keep certain plugins activated when troubleshooting because the one that is causing the issue may be the one you failed to deactivate. If the registration then works you can start reactivating each plugin individually while testing the registration process against it. When you find the one that caused the issue then you can either not use it, or request support from the plugins author. In reply to: [Resolved] How Do Install Locally on Xammp?@sullyllus
You really need to do a little more research on this topic because it will give you a better understanding of WP and BP. The short answer to this is Yes you need to install WordPress because BuddyPress is a plugin that extends WordPress. There is lots of info in the codex of WP and BP. There is also lots of video tutorials on YouTube. Google is your friend as well. Good luck!In reply to: How Do I Hide Extended Profile Fileds from Users@nobodymove
That is always a good sign when they are responsive to support requests so I would not worry too much. He will most likely work out your issue with you! Good luck!In reply to: How Do I Hide Extended Profile Fileds from Users@nobodymove
Nothing out there I can find documentation on, but it doesn’t mean there isn’t. Since this plugins author is offering this plugin as a premium plugin then you should hold them to it to give you the support you need or demand a refund. As stated previously I am not familiar with the plugin or its author so you will have to wait to see if he responds to your support request in a timely manner. Usually 2 days is plenty of time unless they are on holiday but most pro’s will explain that on their site if they will be unavailable for a period of time.In reply to: How Do I Hide Extended Profile Fileds from Users@nobodymove
Unless your comfortable editing database tables I would wait and see if the plugins author can get it fixed. Anyway that is just my suggestion. I am not familiar with the plugin or its author so I probably would not have used it in the first place but that is just how I work. If you absolutely need the plugin then you will have to wait until the author provides a solution. Good luck to you!In reply to: Crazy and yet simple question@zorro1965
In regards to WP SEO by Yoast you can try this solution courtesy of BuddyDev:In reply to: Buddypress Registration Page is not working@gcarlos8377
I see the problem but have you tried switching themes as I suggested because it may be an issue with your theme. In reply to: web design dummy@sna2009
Also depending on what you are trying to accomplish you will also need to learn some web basics like html, css, php, jquery, etc. There is plenty of info on the net for that and if you search on google you should find plenty of resources. Cheers! In reply to: web design dummy@sna2009
Here is a link to the WP codex:
https://codex.wordpress.org/
and to the BP codex
I would bookmark them both because you will find yourself referencing them often.

Have you tried activating Twenty Twelve theme or bp-default theme to see if the issue persists? In reply to: web design dummy@sna2009
The codex is as good a place as any to learn WP and BP. You can search YouTube for videos as well. Lynda.com offers tutorials for a fee, as well as Tutsplus.com . Lisa Sabin-Wilson has several books called WordPress and BuddyPress for dummies but I am not certain how up to date they are with current versions of WP and BP.In reply to: My account menu@mojomateo
I am pretty sure you would have to build the menu manually in your themes header.php if you are trying to get it like the buddyboss demo’s. Depending on your skill level it could be easy to difficult and you would also have to style it and the sub menu’s CSS. I dont know of a plugin or widget that would do it exactly like the buddyboss demo example but you can try this plugin:

It would help to provide a guest username and password when trying to showcase your site so folks can see what it offers other than a registration page.In reply to: Changing Buddypress Slugs@paravia
Go to dashboard/pages/groups actually open the page as if you was going to edit it, it should be just a blank page then click “Screen Options” it should be there! Follow the rest of the instructions! In reply to: Changing Buddypress SlugsDo you see that button at the top right of the Groups page that says “Screen Options” just below the toolbar? Click on that and click the box that says “Slug” then scroll down past the page body and voila the slug metabox magically appears. You can change it there! Good luck!
In reply to: Changing Buddypress Slugs@paravia
Have you tried changing it on the groups page using the slug metabox down towards the bottom of the page?In reply to: Make Activity Feed Restrictions?
