If you decide to remove the logo here is a quick snippet you can place in your themes functions.php for your convenience.
`
function remove_wp_logo() {
global $wp_admin_bar;
$wp_admin_bar->remove_menu(‘wp-logo’);
}
add_action( ‘wp_before_admin_bar_render’, ‘remove_wp_logo’ );

I am a big fan of cool landing pages. This is just my opinion but I would add a few thumbnail screenshots above the features on your landing page. That will show potential members what they are missing out on if they do not join. I would also get rid of the wordpress logo menu item in your toolbar because its a red flag for hackers.In reply to: automatic load buttonIn reply to: BuddyPress Custom Profile Menu@equinestaff
I would contact the plugin author for this request since it deals with third party plugins and really has no bearing on the buddypress plugin.In reply to: ‘fatal error’ login page: ‘undefined function’@anharmse
From the error above it looks like a bbpress error so you may want to post on the bbpress forum to see if they can help as well.In reply to: Howdy, community!@giannisff
I hope you don’t mind constructive criticism but the site needs a lot of work. Its a bit on the janky side and it looks really boring. If your happy with it then that is all that matters but the site doesn’t feel engaging to me in any way. Anyway I am sorry if this seems harsh but hopefully it will motivate you to produce something better than an average mediocre site. Sorry but lying and saying it is awesome will just inhibit your progress and I hope you can appreciate that. My apologies if I offended you.In reply to: User Profile Button@kirkeddie
Here is another example with a slight change. It calls the URL dynamically but you will still need to change the part in the code below so it knows what theme your using and the name of the image file. If the image file is not at the root of your child theme and in a sub directory then you will need to make the necessary adjustments.
Change this to your theme and name of the image file assuming its at the child theme root
your-theme/image-name.pngHere is the code for example 2:

Just replace the URL in my code with the full URL to the image you plan on using.In reply to: User Profile ButtonWhere are you planning on placing this pic that directs users to their profile? You may have to code it into one of the templates of your child theme.

If you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed you may want to deactivate them all to see if the problem persists. If the redirect loop stops and works fine after that then re-activate each plugin one at a time and test to see if you can narrow down which plugin may be causing the issue. If you find that it is a plugin, then report back which plugin was causing the redirect loop.In reply to: I’m getting this warning message@bill-king
Time is money and if it takes you a lengthy amount of time and you still have not achieved your requirements then you will have lost something money can’t buy and that is more time you invested than you already have. I would contact the theme author for support and if they can not help you, and nobody here can help you, then you and that theme will have to say your goodbyes and choose a theme that adheres to WordPress template structures if you want progress in your project. If that is not an option then you need to hire a developer which will cost more money than you paid for the theme considerably.@lavishdhand
If you want to share your solution then add the code on
http://pastebin.com/
And share the link here.In reply to: [Resolved] BuddyPress Error – When the activated@darrylnuyda
I am not certain but it sounds like a php 5.4+ error.
Try adding this code to your themes functions.php between the opening and closing php tags:
`
error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_PARSE);
`
I am not saying this is a fix but it seemed to help me on several installations. Please still supply the info @mercime requested in case there is a better solution.BuddyPress 1.7 does work with most themes providing they have standard wordpress template structures. There really is no way I see for BP to be compatible with every template scheme out there. There is plenty of free themes on wordpress.org that work fine with BP.
@fpats
Okay but if its the theme and you invest a lot of time testing plugins and none of them work because of the theme then your back at square one. I suggest activating the bp-default theme, then activating the private community plugin, then log out and click the nav links to see if the problem persists. It only takes maybe 2 minutes to check.@fpats
Have you considered maybe its your theme overriding the functions of both these plugins? What theme are you using?In reply to: BuddyPress Newbie QuestionsDepends on if it requires a little wordpress and bp customization but you can try here:
Just remember BP is a wordpress plugin and it requires wordpress to work. Good luck!In reply to: BuddyPress Newbie Questionshttp://jobs.wordpress.net/
Be specific in what your requirements are. List your budget, and as much info you can.In reply to: how to search for a new buddypress pluginsHave you tried:

Have you tried this:

It may be perfect for what you are doing and hopefully will be updated for BP 1.7 soon!

This is more of a bbpress issue so it would be more appropriate on that forum.
I suggest studying the codex there as well. Particularly:
https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-user-roles-and-capabilities/
See “Topic Capabilities/edit_others_topicsIn reply to: Terms of Agreement checkbox for registration?@tux-kapono
This can be done out of the box. In the dashboard/users/profile fields create a new profile field under base because this is the fields in registration and under “Is this field required” make it required. In “field type” choose checkboxes. Under “please enter options for this Field:” just leave sort as is and in the text field below it type “I Agree To The Sites Terms Of Service” (This can be what you want really just a suggestion). Under “Default Visibility” check Default value. And That wraps it up really.
@mahdiar
Suggesting as a trac ticket is not necessary. Its already there if you just do the follow the instructions given!In reply to: Hide site activity mention, all members, favoriteDepends, I use css in combination with php to make use of conditionals.
For example study this code:
https://github.com/bphelp/display-new-topic-button-for-moderators-only/blob/master/display-new-topic-button-for-moderators-only.php
This isn’t particularly for your situation but if you do a bit of the leg work you can see how to integrate css with php.There is lots of individuals that specialize in BP/WP. I don’t endorse companies because some may be great at design yet fail at web development. Not saying there isn’t any out there that perform equally well at both. You may want to put in detail what your looking for on the job board because most likely no one will quote you a price until they have this info and you agree on the terms.
