Looks more like an issue in your theme from the error you posted. In reply to: [Resolved] How do I make a sticky wall update?Very cool thanks @imath and @chouf1
In reply to: Remove profile links@praisehim
The answer is in my previous response. Most likely its a theme, plugin, or custom code you may have introduced. You may need to revert back to a twenty twelve theme or bp-default theme, and deactivate all plugins other than buddypress. If you created a file in wp-content/plugins named bp-custom.php you also need to make sure the code is between opening and closing php tags like so:<?php function remove_xprofile_links() { remove_filter( 'bp_get_the_profile_field_value', 'xprofile_filter_link_profile_data', 9, 2 ); } add_action( 'bp_init', 'remove_xprofile_links' ); ?>In reply to: Remove profile links@praisehim
It is not a bug at all. I use this code with BP 1.7 and WP 3.5.1 with various themes downloaded from wordpress.org and it works flawlessly. Either you have a theme, plugin, or custom code that is conflicting with the code. Please make sure you test it thoroughly as I have before stating it is a bug.In reply to: BuddyPress Pages Not Working@jamesonblake

You need provide us with more info before we can aid you!In reply to: User profiles – how does a user update/modify@careythegreen
Unless you have introduced some custom code then there is a link in the toolbar just like the one that appears on buddypress.org. Hover over howdy USERNAME, profile/edit. This is pretty standard so it should be there. If you want to add a a direct link to save confusion then use this code in your header.php:
http://pastebin.com/Eg2HCKrM
wrap it in a div and style as you wish!try adding this above line 58 the do_action line:
<div class="user-location"><?php echo bp_member_profile_data('field=City'); ?></div>As specified above you still need to make a profile field in the dashboard and the end user has to fill in that info before it will show up! I personally tested it and it works so make sure you place the code as I have instructed.
@partytrotter
See lines 61 through 69 in members-loop.php
Between the opening and closing php tags you add code. For example:echo bp_member_profile_data('field=City');The instructions are commented between those lines as well.
Just remember for it to show up you need to create a profile field in the dashboard named “City” and it is case sensitive so city is not the same as City.In reply to: Still getting spammers!! HELP!@placementmantra You have already been asked by @hnla to stop opening old threads. Not to be rude but isn’t it ironic that your asking for help with spam yet your kinda being spammy yourself. Anyway try this plugin, it is in beta but it may work for you:
http://geek.ryanhellyer.net/products/spam-destroyer/
Download the beta version that has support for BP and bbPress.Try this plugin to see if it fits your requirement just understand it makes all BP pages private but line 24 in private-community-for-bp.php can be edited and commented out the components you don’t wish to protect there is an example built in the plugin for sitewide forums to see how to comment certain components out:

http://pastebin.com/Eg2HCKrMIn reply to: PhiloPress – plugins for BuddyPressIn reply to: Posts with community flagging capabilityThis plugin is not been updated in almost 2 years so if you use it and it doesn’t work log into your server, go to wp-content/plugins/ and change the bp-moderation plugin folder to something else to deactivate it if it gives you issues. For example rename bp-moderation to Xbp-moderation just in case. Here is the link to the plugin. Use at your own risk. I have already given you instructions to recover if it fails.

It doesn’t show up until you have a friend. Make a test user, add them as a friend, login as that test user and accept the friendship then voilà it appears! In reply to: Buddy Press Help needed *Noobie Here*@conceptthegreat
That is an awful lot of “wants” for one topic. You would probably do better tackling each issue separately on different topics. If you don’t get the help you need then I would suggest hiring a developer to do it for you. For future reference I would not use a list with multiple changes as you did on this forum because if you will add multiple topics and add the specifics you will get more help overall. There may be people that can help with one or two items you listed but they may not even read your topic and aid you because you was not specific on each individual item. Make sense? In reply to: Remove profile links@jdhall1972
I just checked the link you provided and there is no auto links so the code is working. Maybe you need to do a hard refresh. CTRL+F5In reply to: Remove profile links@jdhall1972
That code should work providing you added it to bp-custom.php or your themes functions.php between opening and closing php tags.In reply to: Howdy, community!@scottwermter
It is a plugin. Get it here!

Have you tried this plugin. I tested it with WP 3.5.1 BP 1.7 and various themes. It works with all of my tests. It makes BP private and also redirects visitors trying to access BP pages to register. Read the readme.txt and study the code to change where you want your logged out visitors redirected to.

Awesome work! Congratulations! In reply to: Feedback = small rant@waynem1
I agree with @modemlooper. I will also say that plugins are relatively small chunks of code which is a lot easier to adjust for compatibility with bp core changes. Do you really expect the core dev team to work around the hundreds of plugins in the repository? We would not have the awesomeness of BP 1.7 if they did that. To reiterate what modemlooper said, nobody is stopping you from building in your own functionality or hiring a developer.
