This the ticket you are talking about? https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/608
Did you apply the patch that was included and try again?
In reply to: Drop down menuWell, I thought that was fixed recently. You on the latest trunk? It was fixed after RC1.
In reply to: Change the name of the blogs folderThen it’s not executing your bp-custom.php file. You have to have the php script tags ” at the bottom of the file. First and last lines. No blank lines at the top before the first php tag.
The forums are stripping all lt and gt tags so here goes in phonetic php:
less-than-symbol question-mark php
question-mark greater-than-symbol
In reply to: Securing components from non logged in usershmmm. I’ve gotta take off for awhile here but you might want to investigate something like this to replace the bp_core_redirect() call: http://www.internetofficer.com/seo/html-redirect/
(from link above)
The HTML redirect allows to introduce a delay before the redirection is performed. It is sometimes called META refresh redirect.
That would mean writing your own redirect() fn. Maybe the normal wp redirects have a delay option?
In reply to: Securing components from non logged in usersYou probably could put some kind of delay in there before the redirect: sleep(10); for a 10 second delay.
In reply to: The old buddypress siteha. Just asked about that too. https://buddypress.org/forums/profile.php
In reply to: Securing components from non logged in usersgpo1 you just need to create a php file and drop it in /mu-plugins instead of putting the code in bp-custom.php. You can use the plugin header below:
/*
Plugin Name: bpRestrict – BuddyPress Plugin
Plugin URI: http://code.ourcommoninterest.org/
Description: Restricts non-logged in users from certain areas
Author: Burt Adsit
Version: 0.1
Author URI: http://code.ourcommoninterest.org/
License: GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE 3.0 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
*/
In reply to: Securing components from non logged in usersenlightnemental1, to add more restricted areas you just add to the ‘or’ list of url components. If bp-events plugin adds itself to bp as a component then try this:
[snip]
if (!is_user_logged_in() &&
(MEMBERS_SLUG == $bp_unfiltered_uri[0] && !empty( $bp->current_action ) ||
BP_GROUPS_SLUG == $bp->current_component && !empty( $bp->current_action ) ||
'events' == $bp->current_component
[endsnip]It all depends on the url of what you want to restrict. The above chunk of code will restrict mysite.org/members, mysite.org/groups, mysite.org/events and not the member or groups directories.
In reply to: How To Remove P and /P In Group ForumThis isn’t a competition Andy. But you beat me fair and square by about 1.5 minutes.
In reply to: How To Remove P and /P In Group ForumLooks like something is improperly stripping the lt and gt chars from your forum text. Do you have the bbpress plugin buddypress-enable.php activated in bbpress? It comes with bp and is distributed in the /mu-plugins/bp-forums/bbpress-plugins.
Has something disabled the standard bp filter bp_forums_filter_decode() that lives in bp-forums-filters.php?
In reply to: Widget Ajax Members Group Problem@djpaul, was gonna ask you to take a look at this thread. You’re here already.
I’ve given up on trying to grok this one. Have absolutely nothing else to contribute. Stumped me. All I can think of is that it’s a host thing. Have fun.
In reply to: how to add page links at the top of the page?You have to edit the header.php file in the theme you are using. In the home theme the links start at line #45 in the
<ul id="nav"> ... </ul>block of html. There is a similar block of navigation items in the member theme.In reply to: Date’s bugNot sure what the problem is Dace. You added a date field in the profile. When you go to your profile the date field will be blank, yes. You should be able to change the field to something and then use the Save Changes > button to save everything on that screen.
This doesn’t work? What version of wpmu are you using? Any error messages in your apache error log?
In reply to: Icon problemsExactly what images are you talking about famous? Member theme, home theme or admin bar? The size of the logo images isn’t tied to font size as far as I can tell. Get firebug and take a look at what *is* controlling that.
In reply to: Forum treads paginationPagination is available for most things in bp. If you see it on testbp.org it will be in your install also. What version of bp are you using?
In reply to: BP Avatars in bbPressbobman024, the xmlrpc.php file can’t be used like you are trying. Not sure why you are. It just has to be there for use by the xmlrpc function call protocol.
In reply to: Required name and logout issuesifoundu, you have a topic open for that question.
In reply to: Weird BBPress forum issueGot me. I don’t use the LDAP plugin so I’m not sure of the implications involved in using it. I’ll leave this topic open. Perhaps somebody else who actually uses that plugin can help.
In reply to: Adding links to admin bargpo1, I’m sure there are programmers around the forums that can do this for you if you don’t have the time to research and implement this.
In reply to: Strange Navigation BugModifying $wp_filter and all those other vars is dangerous. These are wp internal vars that control the flow of function calls when wp does do_action() or apply_filters(). Changing their values can lead to unpredictable behavior.
Danger Will Robinson.
If you want to change the sequence of the actions and filters in wp or replace them with your own functions, there is a way to do this. remove_action() remove_filter() and the action priority parameter.
In reply to: How do I put login-search-bar into bb-press headerduh.
In reply to: Where to get theme of this buddypress forum?I don’t think that this theme is available for download anywhere. It looks to me like the standard bbpress theme with a custom header and footer.
In reply to: When will buddypress release stable version?ipin, new translation files are generated frequently. Check the svn trunk for notifications such as this: POT, generated from r1247
I believe that one was generated this past Friday.
In reply to: Community Blogs Pluginmodemlooper, currently that’s beyond the scope of what community blogs does. What you are talking about is a custom ‘blog’ component. Integrating a group blog into bp. Community blogs is a step in that direction.
In reply to: How do I put login-search-bar into bb-press headerThe bp admin bar relies on it running in wp. bbpress is not wp. Sorry but it isn’t possible. You can simulate such a thing though. I did such a thing many moons ago. I took the guts of the file bp-core-adminbar.php and replace them with bbpress like things and hardcoded the rest.
