@danbp How many links do you think is appropriate? Happy to experiment with different values.

@danbp I noticed that too. A couple of times I’ve included more than 2 links as references and was unable to post.

@danbp
I think it is easy to assume at this juncture that very few folks use the search function here before posting a thread. Maybe a super sticky topic that lets people know to search before they post is due because it gets monotonous to repeat yourself over and over when all a user would have had to done is a quick search. Maybe you can make…[Read more] -

3dperuna replied to the topic Additional Formatting in Extended Profile Field Descriptions in the forum Creating & Extending 11 years, 1 month ago
It looks like it provides the ability to add BP shortcodes elsewhere, but not in the extended fields themselves.
I’d actually be fine with being able to add some additional formatting to the description rather than having it stripped away.

@disrup
I have to agree with @danbp here as he stated:IMHO the most simple thing to do, is to add a link to the tutorial on the register page with some description. And to add a tutorial item to one of your site menu.
With that said don’t you think a user that has already registered and activated their account on your site would be slightly…[Read more]

Henry Wright replied to the topic How to make my site like Facebook in the forum Creating & Extending 11 years, 1 month ago
Great explanation 🙂
Regarding mentions, I’m not seeing how spaces in usernames can work. Say hypothetically my username is Henry Wright (note that’s my username and not my display name). How would you mention me in a public message?
@Henry Wright wouldn’t mention me. It’d mention someone with the username @Henry.

Henry Wright replied to the topic How to make my site like Facebook in the forum Creating & Extending 11 years, 1 month ago
Maybe I’m misunderstanding how @-mentions work. The way I see it, if your username is (note the space):
Jane Doe
…and I want to mention you in an update, then I’d write:
@Jane Doe
But, as you can see there is a problem with that. Jane Doe won’t get the notification because somebody with the username @Jane got it instead.
Perhaps @danbp can…[Read more]

The link you posted for reading assumes that you can actually access the Groups admin area, but that is precisely the problem as I can’t.
Also, I’m fairly new to BP plugin development, but I’m feeling pretty sure that I’m looking at the right place for how the admin menu is built. Here is what I posted in the original question, which…[Read more]

Good point @danbp
@bloodslayer, you’d need to be logged in as ‘editor’ or upwards (admin or super admin) for my example above to work.

Hi @bea107
Did you copy and paste @danbp‘s code? I haven’t tested it myself but if you have copied his code then it doesn’t look like you’ve copied it properly as some of it is certainly missing. For example, where did this bit in your code snippet come from?
add_filter( ‘bp_core_get_last_activity’ ); - Load More
