Does it upload the image? Does it store it as a temporary file on the server (dump $_FILES)? Do you get to the crop screen? Does the image appear on the crop screen? Does the cropper selection box work / does the preview work?

Take a look at bp_user_can_create_groups() in BuddyPress 1.5; there are filters and an option to control if group creation is allowed.

Work backwards from your designs. If you need the list on a new group tab, build a group extension plugin.

It ought to continue to work. I don’t think we made any changes directly in the Group Extension stuff. If you can’t figure it out, check where you’re hooking into BuddyPress (try earlier) and/or report on BuddyPress.trac.WordPress.org

@alanchrishughes, the Template Pack plugin does need to be updated, but we can’t do that until 1.5 is out 🙂

It’s probably a good idea if you contact the author of this plugin to tell them their plugin shouldn’t be crashing the site if someone disables groups 🙂

Toggling them back on in the component settings (where you turned them off) should restore everything without any data loss.

We added two new parameters to the BP_Activity_Template class. The error is because they are missing. Please report this on https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/, those new values should have defaults for back pat.
