We could add a token, but it’d end up rendering a <img> tag, so I’d love to understand a bit more what your idea is. Maybe break out MS Paint and take a screenshot of an email and mark out what you’re describing?

@BackpackersUnion I’ll update the documentation now. You either always use two or three pairs of brackets for tokens.

Two brackets: insert this value safely (escapes HTML).
Three brackets: insert this value verbatim (potentially dangerous if mis-used).

Always use two brackets unless and until you find somewhere you need raw markup.

Running the dev build means you’re not getting the optimised CSS / JS files.

If you’re able to deploy with a SVN checkout instead of Git, you could use svn co https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/buddypress/tags/xxx/ --ignore-externals which will not include the bbPress folder from the checkout.

It must be something to do with the server configuration; it could be anything. I’ve used BuddyPress on Amazon instances of all sizes and I’ve never had a problem.

Did you Network Activate the BuddyPress plugin, or just enable it on one of the sites?

You could probably write some code to do this (unhook various action callbacks) but there’s no on/off switch for something like this.

Your best bet is to try the bbPress.org support forums — the shortcode you’re using is bbPress, not BuddyPress.

They’re legacy in the optimistic hope that we’ll build new templates sometime this year (2016). I think it’ll happen.

I ran into this recently. I’m not sure what we need to do – I think we need to change the cropping logic, and also end up with a bunch more versions of the avatars.

I’m not sure when we might get to improving on avatars in this way.
