@r-a-y Any ideas on how to clear out the stuck notifications that are already there?
Thanks
@DJPaul I am creating a custom page. It will list “Brands”. These brands are contained in a group.

PLEASE!!! My users are complaining loudly about this issue. Some of them have nearly a dozen un clearable notifications because of this issue! I can only imagine the chaos that will ensue once the community has been active for a year and they have dozens and dozens of notifications that won’t go away…
And new users can’t find answers to these already answered forum topics!
I think a simple solution would be to not allow forum topics to add to the activity stream. I can do this with a great plugin. But how do I clear all the notifications that users already have?? And besides, this is only a hack. I would like to keep forums updates in the activity stream, to encourage interaction.
Thanks
I really need a hand with this. If anybody has any suggestions… Thanks!!
In reply to: Friend Acceptance Notification NOT GOING AWAY!@rossargant I used the code found here and it worked for me. I use 1.2.8
In reply to: Notifications Number not going away@brooker I followed the advice in this link and it worked. I, too, am using 1.2.8
In reply to: Showing random group membersBump number 2. Any other help? Thanks
@r-a-y any more advice? Thanks
In reply to: Showing random group memberssmall bump.

I like Rays idea.. anybody have an idea of how to implement it? Thanks
Thanks- I stumbled across that the other day. I wish it weren’t a core change. Guess we can’t have it all.
Be well
In reply to: Showing profile fields outside of profileThanks again for the answer. But I have the following problems:
The echo displays the group members user id for each member (the actual number) But the profile field that I am trying to display is showing that of the members page I am on, not the group members.I replaced :
‘user_id’ => bp_displayed_user_id()with:
‘user_id’ => bp_group_member_id()
So the output I get is such:
Group Members Name (correct per my use of the group member loop)
47 ( the bp_group_member_id) (this is the correct user id, but I don’t want that displayed)
Displayed users profile field (incorrect- this should be the profile field of the Group member in the list)Thanks!
In reply to: Showing random group membersWell, that is handful! I’m not sure where to even begin to combine the two types of loops. I’m willing to get my hands dirty with code, but need a hint as to how to get started. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the reply!
@philsquires I agree with @Brooker Might not be the best idea. However, here is a possible solution:
Make every filed of the profile “Required”. I believe this is will not allow new users through until they are filled in. This will have no effect on current users though, Not until they visit their edit profile screen, anyway.Good luck!
In reply to: Hidden group posts visible to all@kenrichman Hey, sorry, I have yet to look into this. I’ve been so busy with getting everything else my client wants working to work that this got put to the bottom of my list. Hopefully I will remember to re visit it before I get a complaint! If I get hnla’a idea working, I will post here how I did it.
Peace
Oh, I have an answer to your question number 2 above:
I duplicated the post-form, renamed it and call the new form just above their activity. Below is the code for the new form php file
`
<form action="” method=”post” id=”whats-new-form” name=”whats-new-form”>
<a href="”><textarea name="whatsnew" id="whats-new" cols="50" rows="10" onClick="ta(); this.form.whatsnew.value= '@ ‘;” title=”Do not Erase "@"”>@This is a PUBLIC message
<input type="submit" name="aw-whats-new-submit" onClick="at();"id="aw-whats-new-submit" value="” />`
and here is the js for the function calls:
`function ta() {
document.getElementById(“whats-new”).style.height = “60px”;
}
function at() {
document.getElementById(“whats-new”).style.height = “20px”;
}`@msullens88 How did you combine @mentions, status updates, photos from bp-gallery into one activity feed? I have been looking for the answer to this for weeks. I have an activity feed on a users profile, but can’t get @mentions to show.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

In reply to: Purging the Activity DatabaseI just installed the activity block plug-in and blocked blog content. I then went back and made all posts drafts.
It appears that this data was removed from the activity stream.
Can someone please confirm that this is the normal action? Or do I need to look else where to delete all references to these posts?
Thanks.
edit: I just tried re-publishing One post to test that the plug-in did it’s job, it appears it did.
In reply to: [Resolved] How to edit items in bp_activity_actionThanks again @mercime !
In reply to: [Resolved] How to edit items in bp_activity_actionI think I can be happy for now. This is what I did:
Added
define( ‘BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT’, ‘profile’ );
to wp-config.php
So now every instance of the users name, or avatar, links to their profile instead of the wall. Would the experts here say this is a good, upgrade proof, solution?
Thanks again.
In reply to: @mentions drop down listBig + 1 !
This isn’t exactly what you asked for, but in lieu of that this will at least encourage completion.

I have a few weeks before my launch, so I have some time. After I squash a few other more pressing bugs, I am going to look into this. Glad I found this post
