In reply to: iPhone App
It is possible, but you’ll need to hire an iOS programmer.
In reply to: Call to arms – Own your task@bowromir Have you checked out flattr.com as a donation platform? If all BP plugin/theme devs standardise on one donation platform it would make things simpler, no? With flattr you can also do monthly micro-donations where you choose how much you want to donate per month and it is spread out between the different plugins you have flattred. @boone already has an account there and also @jeffsayre has(had?) one.
At least to me, flattr would be easier to contribute smaller amounts monthly to various plugin devs.
EDIT Promo video:
If you search @bowe twitter feed I’m sure you’ll find some clues as to what it is.
The infinity platform seems interesting as well
In reply to: Mashable running BP?@Djpaul is probably happy if they used achievements
In reply to: Buddypress and Mobile Devicesthere seems to be alternative browsers for the iPhone that support uploading, but standard Safari does not in iOS 4.3.

“3- widget to move the adminbar to a widget in the location of your choice” Awesome!
@nexia How about adding the patch to trac?
In reply to: comingofagenow.orgWow, that looks really awesome and customized. I love it! Did you do the design or just the code related stuff?
I made a track ticket for it.
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/3095In reply to: Will BP work with other themes and plugins?@Chaotic_Cannon, I believe @hnla meant that you could continue the thread here instead of the wp forum as @mercime frequents this forum as well as the wp forum, and this is a more suitable place to talk about your questions related to buddypress. It would be easier for mercime and all involved in this thread to follow the conversation.
No reason to get defensive. When you say you like the other forum plugins better, is that because buddypress forums are tied to groups? If so, you may want to check out this plugin which makes the forums standalone ala vbulletin (“normal forums”) etc:
http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-global-sitewide-forums-plugin-for-buddypress/ For a demo, check out the sites forum.Other then that it is possible to integrate the max theme with bp template pack. You could have your friend check that out.
Buddypress is more advanced than e.g. wp-symposium, but it is not really an out-of-the-box solution. Most likely you need help from a coder friend or you´d need to hire some to help with your customizations.
In reply to: Showing latest forum topics on the homepageIn reply to: Buddyvents and MapologyWow. Buddyevents is shaping up to be a really good events plugin!
In reply to: Application Pool Limit? You could test with a VPS. (buy one month) Since it is on shared hosting most likely it is a lack of resources.
In reply to: Application Pool Limit?Have you tried a caching plugin like W3 Total Cache?
PS What theme are you using`?
In reply to: Post on Wall Capabilities VS. @ mention?something like this http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-wire/ ?
In reply to: Can’t change site name with buddypress themeThis site has the potential of being a really nice BP resource! Good work Bowe.
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginLooks nice and simplistic!
@dwenaus I am interested in becoming a sponsor ($50), but I guess I need some more information about the plugin. I have been trying to use the BP wiki component, but the development seems to have stagnated. So, a bit more info on the plugin and Im probably in.
