@danbp thank you for the suggestion. I did try it with 2013 and it does the same thing. Any other suggestions to deal with this problem?
OMG, that worked @henrywright! Thank you, thank you!!
(And thanks @danbp for your input too.)
This thread can now be closed. Thanks again. =)
Hi,
I have tried all kinds of combinations that I’ve seen online, but none have worked. I’ve not heard back from the plugin developer. It seems like it should be relatively easy URL.
Any other thoughts @Henrywright? Your help is appreciated. Thanks
Thank you for your help. It was my theme. Working with the theme developer now. Looks like it should be an easy fix.
Note: I’ve checked all of the appropriate boxes on the BP settings menu (including Friend Connections) and I’ve even deactivated and re-activate Buddypress. Nothing seems to work.
@ronia Thanks for the suggestion. I just gave that a shot and it didn’t work. Any other guesses?
Yes, that’s exactly what I want! So, any thoughts on what that URL code should be?
@henrywright thanks for the reply!
I’m not sure I explained myself well. What I’m looking for is after the user has signed up and comes back another time and logs in. When they log in I don’t want them to go to the homepage, I want them to go to their activity page which the “Social Login” plugin will automatically do if I give it the right URL code.
For example, for post names the permalinks code is http://mywebsite.com/sample-post/ and then it fills in the part that says “sample-post” with the name of the page, for instance it would fill in “About” for the about page so the permalink would look like: http://mywebsite.com/about/. I need the code for how Buddypress fills in the part that would put in the username. I was thinking it might be /user-name/ or /%username%/ or something like that, but they didn’t work.
I’m still new to buddypress. I’m wondering if this thread might be close to what I need. I don’t want to get any new user notifications sent to me (my admin email address). The notification I get shows the new user’s email address. I want email addresses to be private and drop into some kind of database that I can later use to send newsletters to. Anyway to fix that?
Thanks
I’m interested in this topic too.
That’s a great idea, hadn’t thought of that. Thanks!
Thanks for the info, but I don’t see an actual document, just instructions for a way to add one. I am looking for an actual document I could replicate and use.
I am also interested in this. I would like to add city, state, and zip fields when groups sign up and then make them searchable.
@danbp Thank you for your quick reply! Yes, I guess it is WP-related. I was just thinking that because step 4 is dealing with login/registration that it has the BP component to it. Appreciate your link too.
Will skip over to WP now, cheers!
Hi @mercime,
I have run into a hiccup with my site so I can’t yet implement, but am looking forward to trying out the code soon.
Thanks for your quick reply, I really appreciate it.
Cheers!
Hi,
Thank you so much! I have run into a hiccup so I can’t yet implement, but can’t wait to try it out. I actually may want to change the title of a few other things now that I see it’s possible =).
This is my first go at Buddypress and I’m excited to be working with it.
Thanks again!
