The only thing I can think of is you don’t have permissions to view the message thread. Can you verify that you’re logged-in and you’re one of the message participants? If you’re not authorised to view the thread then I think you’ll see a 404.

A developer will certainly be able to help you with something like this as it isn’t a huge job. Check out the BP Jobs Board, you should be able to find a BP developer there.

The best place to start your research is the WordPress Plugins Directory. As you’ve mentioned you probably won’t find a single plugin that does everything, it’s instead likely that you’ll need a combination of plugins and perhaps even some custom code written. There will most probably be lots in the Plugin Directory but you’ll need to test which are compatible with BuddyPress. WordPress ‘authors’ and BuddyPress ‘members’ are the same fundamentally so compatibility shouldn’t be a problem. But as I say, give them a try before going live.

Can you check if pagination works with the default theme activated (Twenty Fifteen) and all plugins disabled? If you still experience the problem then, I’d suggest opening a ticket on Trac. If the problem goes away then it’s likely to be theme or plugin related.

@ronia yes but I think in this case username is a variable. So it’ll be something like example.com/members/%%username%% but as I said earlier you’ll need to check with the plugin.

Check out the BuddyPress Template Hierarchy article. The files you need to modify might not be created on your installation – they’re not created by default. You might need to create them yourself. The article will have lots more info on how this can be done.

Good question! I’m not entirely sure this will work but try filtering by type. The default type is active members so try using something like newest. For example:

No idea because it’ll depend on the plugin. Likely there’ll be some string-replacement going on but you’d have to ask the plugin’s support team what string the plugin uses for username.

Ah right. I think I understand what you mean. So you’re saying the Social Login plugin gives you the opportunity to redirect users to a certain URL after they’ve logged in. You’d like this to be example.com/members/username where username varies according to who exactly is logging in?

The /username/ part is given at sign-up. So when a user visits example.com/register they should see a field called username which they can complete along with their name, email, password etc.

That’s strange. The following condition should make sure the redirect occurs only if the user is logged-in and viewing page /me/
