In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATA
I think the question will be how far away from a REST API are we?
In reply to: Storing/Syncing with WP User metaThis would involve a big rewrite to the xProfile component. It wouldn’t be an easy task and I’d actually recommend against doing it. Instead, perhaps you could disable the component and roll your own usermeta-based solution to user profiles?
In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATADoes anyone know of any Open file formats for data export
Do you mean stuff like?
- CSV
- SQL
- JSON
- YAML
- XML
- HTML
In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATAI looked at Trac but can only find where to file a bug report, not a feature request.
Sorry about that, I should have mentioned there’s no formal way to submit a feature request. If you begin the ticket title “Feature request:” that should be fine 🙂
In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATAAn export import facility would be great to have. Keep in mind this won’t guarantee it will get done, but I suggest you open a feature request on Trac (as always try searching existing tickets first to make sure one doesn’t already exist).
In reply to: Ajax in messages componentAjax doesn’t require much code, but PHP and JavaScript skills are needed. The best place to start is probably here.
In reply to: Activity Stream Search Term FilteringI think you’ll need to use AJAX for this. Listen for the option list change in your JavaScript file, and then pass the relevant data to the server for processing.
In reply to: Where is “Delete my account” option?The account delete option can be enabled by going to Settings > BuddyPress > Options > Main Settings > Account Deletion.
In reply to: Change background color of .activity-header?Try
.activity-header { background-color: #000; }Maybe the #buddypress ID isn’t on the page?
In reply to: Is it possible to use Peepso with Buddypress?I see! In that case, try asking over at Peepso too, perhaps one of their users has used BP at some point. I guess that’s the problem with paid products, there’s no way to test against your own set-up before purchase. I’d imagine if you contacted Peepso direct they _may_ be able to think of something to help.
Which plugins do you have active and which theme are you using?
In reply to: Is it possible to use Peepso with Buddypress?I doubt they would work well together but you could try it on a test install and let us know how you got on?
Try using
bp_is_directory(). So:add_filter( 'bp_after_has_members_parse_args', 'devb_custom_hide_friends' ); function devb_custom_hide_friends( $args ) { if ( ! bp_is_directory() ) { return $args; } // Rest of your code.In reply to: Disable Activity streams, keep mentions for BBPress@-mentions require the activity stream component and as far as I know there’s no way around that.
In reply to: Show “Total Posts” instead of “Topics” and “Replies”Hey @fenixbazaar
Give the guys a shout over at bbPress. They handle forum-related questions.
In reply to: Unable to Set BP PagesThis may be a silly question but have you created those pages under Pages > Add New?
In reply to: Profile is Forcing avatar uploadPlease upload your profile photo to start using this site.
It’s likely you have a plugin activated that’s causing this message.
In reply to: How to move Profile windowThe image isn’t displaying for me?
I don’t have enough data set up on my local install to test, but you could try this:
add_filter( 'bp_after_has_activities_parse_args', function( $retval ) { $filter_query[] = array( 'relation' => 'OR', array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'philippine tube-nosed fruit bat', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'nyctimene rabori', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ) ); $filter_query[] = array( array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'sea lion', 'compare' => 'NOT LIKE' ) ); $retval['filter_query'] = $filter_query; return $retval; } );@idlewanderer try specifying another fully-formed query. For example:
array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'philippine tube-nosed fruit bat', 'compare' => 'LIKE', array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'sea lions', 'compare' => 'NOT LIKE' ) ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'nyctimene rabori', 'compare' => 'LIKE', array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'sea lions', 'compare' => 'NOT LIKE' ) )Sure! Accepted operators are
=,!=,>,>=,<,<=,IN,NOT IN,LIKE,NOT LIKE,BETWEEN,NOT BETWEEN,REGEXP,NOT REGEXPandRLIKE.So perhaps try
NOT LIKE.I guess I can add as many terms as I like now?
We’ve specified
ORas the relationship between the activity queries so you can add as many as you like. For example:array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'philippine tube-nosed fruit bat', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'nyctimene rabori', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'something else', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'blah', 'compare' => 'LIKE' )Ah, that’s not quite how to use it. You should filter inside the function you’re hooking to
bp_after_has_activities_parse_args. For example:add_filter( 'bp_after_has_activities_parse_args', function( $retval ) { $filter_query[] = array( 'relation' => 'OR', array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'philippine tube-nosed fruit bat', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'nyctimene rabori', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ) ); $retval['filter_query'] = $filter_query; return $retval; } );So here’s my stab at the problem:
$filter_query[] = array( 'relation' => 'OR', array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'philippine tube-nosed fruit bat', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ), array( 'column' => 'content', 'value' => 'nyctimene rabori', 'compare' => 'LIKE' ) ); $retval['filter_query'] = $filter_query;Please note I haven’t tested.
Because your query has become more complex than a single search term or phrase, I think you’ll need to use
meta_queryorfilter_queryinstead.
