Have you installed the theme?
In reply to: New problem i havent seen before?I’m not able to test at the moment (am away for the next 7 days and am currently typing from my tablet). But it sounds like the ‘load more’ click is resulting in all activity item comments being revealed? As far as I’m aware, a load more click should load new activity items onto the page and should not have any impact on activity item comments being shown or hidden. It would make sense for the functionality which displays or hides activity item comments to be associated with a different event listener (i.e. not the load more button click)
In reply to: New problem i havent seen before?Hey @mcpeanut!
Considering you’ve tested unsuccessfully on an unmodified Twenty Twelve – Thirteen – Fourteen, it might be worth making the core dev team aware of the problem by opening a Trac ticket:
Further to @bphelp’s suggestion, keep an eye on this ticket which aims to have this available in core by v2.2
Being a premium theme, I can’t see the code. Try asking their support team, they should be able to help
In reply to: Profile picture to use wordpress avatarHi @tightflks
You can use
get_avatar()instead of the BuddyPress functionbp_core_fetch_avatar(). See: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_avatarHi @alberhd
This is actually something specific to the theme you’re using. Which theme are you using?
In reply to: WordPress and buddypress different themesLook into WP multisite. It will allow you to have multiple sub domains use a single database.

In reply to: Private messaging and emailHi @pstidsen
It sure is possible but you’ll need to write a custom function to handle the behaviour. The hook you’ll need is
messages_message_sent. It fires after a private message has been sent successfully.@danbp I’ve used Hashbuddy in the past and remember it to be a very good plugin!
@julia_b I just re-read your question. I’m now wondering what exactly you mean by tag someone? If you mean @-mention someone then email alert settings are available but if you meant hashtag someone #henrywright (which is what I originally thought you meant but am now not so sure) then that sort of functionality isn’t standard.
In reply to: How to make my site like FacebookIn reply to: How to make my site like FacebookGreat explanation 🙂
Regarding mentions, I’m not seeing how spaces in usernames can work. Say hypothetically my username is Henry Wright (note that’s my username and not my display name). How would you mention me in a public message?
@Henry Wright wouldn’t mention me. It’d mention someone with the username @Henry.
In reply to: How to make my site like FacebookMaybe I’m misunderstanding how @-mentions work. The way I see it, if your username is (note the space):
Jane Doe
…and I want to mention you in an update, then I’d write:
@Jane Doe
But, as you can see there is a problem with that. Jane Doe won’t get the notification because somebody with the username @Jane got it instead.
Perhaps @danbp can shed some light on this?
In reply to: How to make my site like FacebookIn the last screenshot, if you take a look under the IP address it reads:
@ Julia BuckleyRegarding the roadmap, 2.1 is due any time soon. See https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/roadmap
In reply to: How to make my site like FacebookIn reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity page@shanebp even if I provided some explanation of the priority requirement, I think my edit to change the hook to
wp_enqueue_scriptsmay have introduced confusion to some people not as familiar with the priority param. I think it’s safer all round just to usewp_print_scripts, especially as the hook isn’t being deprecated as first thought.In reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity pageIf you copy and paste this into your theme’s functions.php file, it should work.
function my_dequeue_script() { if ( bp_is_activity() ) wp_dequeue_script( 'xyz-custom-script' ); } add_action( 'wp_print_scripts', 'my_dequeue_script', 100 );Your functions.php file will be located at: /wp-content/themes/your-theme/functions.php
In reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity pageIn reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity pageProbably best if I revert my change! I’ll see to that now…
In reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity pageHere is the updated code:
function my_dequeue_script() { if ( bp_is_activity() ) wp_dequeue_script( 'xyz-custom-script' ); } add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'my_dequeue_script', 100 );In reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity pageDone! 🙂
In reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity page@hnla good spot. I took the example from the WP Codex article I referenced in my post. Do you want to update or should I?
In reply to: wp_enqueue_script issue on activity pageHello @albert101
You can use
wp_dequeue_script()to remove an enqueued script. For example:function my_dequeue_script() { if ( bp_is_activity() ) wp_dequeue_script( 'xyz-custom-script' ); } add_action( 'wp_print_scripts', 'my_dequeue_script', 100 );Ref: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_dequeue_script
