privacy control has not yet been implemented, try searching for privacy and you can read about some plugins that are being developed for this, and you could suggest this be added to their plugins, tbh i thought privacy was quite a key feature for social networks too so im surprized it got left out

hi admin is your main admin account, your still logged in, try using firefox for your main account (admin) and use a different browser to test other registrations and logins

this might help separate the confusion for you, i also use this method sometimes as cookies are separate between browsers

what are you trying to achieve by moving it to each component?

so the user can comment on activity groups etc? that seems a little strange to me,

create your own wire by copying some code from the wire component and modify it to suit your needs?

all users are part of the site community so once registered they can comment etc under thier username, why not encourage users to sign up when they first get to your site

id say the easiest way would be to tell them to bookmark and then come back after registering

i think it should be easy, all you have to do is get the user to choose the blog they want the pages to come from, and then display the links on the profile in a widget, the user can edit the pages from the blogs dashboard.

@kunal17, its not quite the same thing but yes you can do it with gmail by adding a plus sign on the end with another string?? like user+website@gmail.com??

my is different in that all mail sent to any address on my domain comes to me unless i have previously createrd the address as a mailbox

why dont you just get a catch all email address its way better

then you can make up email addresses on the spot and know where the mail is coming

its so useful that everyone should do it – you have infinite addresses because it always appears in your inbox

you can use the custom.css file to add custom css to the buddypress widgets, look what tags the widget uses then copy the corresponding code into your custom file and modify it to suit your needs

@jeff – i plan on making an albums component for my site for audio video and images (ie the user can mix content into ‘media albums’)

so it will be interesting to see how this evolves

i would like to be able to tag everything on my site ie members photos blogs groups etc so maybe this will help

i think its possible to create custom components using the skeleton component however it sounds like you want something a little more to build on, i tried replacing all instances of the word group to artist and groups to artists, to create my own artists component for bands and artists groups on my site, like myspace has myspace music/bands or watever,

unfortunately it didnt work by simply doing this, im interested if anyone has any info on how we can duplicate and modify components,

i might take a look at the skeleton component to see how that integrates a new component

maybe you could copy the groups component and change all the code to something else like

swap out group for yournewcomponent

would you be able to add a referal add, like if a freind refers you it also ads them to your freinds upon activation, in addition to the ones selected in the pack,

and maybe selecting a few groups based on the member who refered them, or by evaluating a profile field? eg. interests -> search for groups based on x,y,z -> give user option to join in addition to ones selected by welcome pack
