@yocalif The wordpress version should be showing at the bottom when you login to the dashboard. For buddypress, you can go into the plugins and it’ll list each plugins version number.
For buddypress, you can start with the readme.txt in the downloaded file
For WPMU, you can start with this: https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WPMUWhat kind of messages are you referring to? Private messages?
Please add your issue in here so someone can look into it
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2405You can login using the same username/password.
The fix seem to work for me. Would you be able to test also?
@Bowromir @dwenaus @atomiccafe
According to the plugin, “You may also define a group admin and mod that will be auto-assigned to all new groups.” so wouldn’t that do the job?

Hmmmm why are you redirecting people to http://my-webs.org/notify/2.php
@mulligankicks Go into the admin “dashboard”, then under BuddyPress menu there is Forums Setup.
Will this work for everyone?

Thank you for providing the link. Your plugin also shows that it requires wpmu. Are you saying it also works for wp?
@Kunkel will there be score keeping on the site or just to play?
I thought I forgot to enable it in the configuration somewhere. Thanks for confirming. I will add it to the trac.
Thanks for your reply DJPaul. Actually, I’m looking for individual post moderation rather than Groups moderation.
I’m looking for similar function to how wordpress handles the comment moderation.
Did I over look a setting?
For those that find this while searching …
you should see Navigation Links message (“You may want to add new navigation tabs or links to your theme to link to BuddyPress directory pages.”) on the right side after clicking on Appearance and then BP Compatibility link.
I placed it in “plugins” and it works great! It’s a slow process but I’m learning from these snippets.
Is there a reference guide where you pulled these from for those of us not as verse with the different variables used?
I’ll try to get the same result for the comment section to match the name used in the members directory.
Thank you so much!
I did what you mentioned but the code in bp-custom.php is now showing up at the top of the page visible to all. Maybe I missed something else?
edit: ooops, my mistake. It’s working now but I can PM by going direct URL.
edit2: how to enable so admin can still PM w/o being friends?
Thank you for your help. I tried it on a test site and it’s working. Not sure what happened.
Anyone? Just looking for a little guidance so I can give this a try. Additional modification needed for the code? Need to paste it in a particuliar section of a file?
I believe this is what you are looking for:
I pasted Burt’s code to the end of function.php and I get a blank page
Did I miss something?
[wordpress2.9.2 + buddypress1.2.1]
Is this what you are looking for?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought wp+bp did away with using special characters for username.
I am also interested in this type of private messaging.
