Merging the two won’t happen.
It’s a horrible idea to test with live data. The point of keeping them separate is to keep them separate, so the development team has a safe and disconnected place to deploy code with little repercussion.
The slow load times likely have to do with a recent server migration, and we’re looking into what’s up. I appreciate your investigation into what’s going on where.
In reply to: user posting of photosUnsure. We’re a little at the mercy of how WordPress core handles media uploading, and there are lots of potential ways it can be done. In the meanwhile, check out BP-Media.
In reply to: Logging BugsThis is what I see when I am logged out of trac, which is what I suspect you’re seeing.

What do you see after clicking the “Login” link in the upper right corner? You should get an alert that pops up and prompts you to login. If so, use your WordPress.org/BuddyPress.org/bbPress.org username and password. You should be good to go from there.
I’m perplexed that you understand each other and I am still not confident what the problem is or how either of you have fixed it.
Not clarifying the issue with clear and concise steps to reproduce it is leaving the dev team without an understanding of how to duplicate; there is no way to fix something we do not understand.
I’m closing this topic since it seems resolved. If you are able to include clear steps to reproduce this (go here, click here, this happens, go here, this happens, etc…) please drop them in the ticket you linked to above.
In reply to: HobokenMommies.comAwesome!
In reply to: Site broken after auto-upgrade to 1.5.4Odd. All of that happens outside of BuddyPress’s control, and more involves WordPress, your server, and WordPress.org plugin repository that serves you the zip file of the updated package. During that time, BuddyPress does not run any update scripts or routines at all.
Your response still doesn’t help clarify the issue. I need to know if you are attempting to edit a user’s profile, or a specific field in the XProfile component in wp-admin.
In reply to: Site broken after auto-upgrade to 1.5.4At the risk of having your site be down again, are you able to duplicate this? Can you detail exactly at what step your site went down?
Are you trying to change the name of a profile field? Or change your username?
In reply to: BP Authorize.netThis plugin is really only an API for something I built for a client a while ago. There isn’t much of an interface for it, so you’ll want to pair up with someone that build the actual payment processing portion of your site.
@jetlej – See your topic over at bbPress.org for my response.
Related note, please don’t cross post the same question in both forums. It creates twice the work on our end which makes fixing things take twice as long.
In reply to: New BuddyPress Integration / Theme (PageLines)Nice!
It happens to the best of us. Happy there wasn’t anything actually broken.
Thanks for the kind words.

Does your media gallery allow you to upload things? Since BuddyPress uses the core WordPress APIs to handle the upload, it shouldn’t be the only thing broken (unless wp-admin is whitelisted or something.)
In reply to: BuddyPress wipes out WordPress cache? No reason to bump anything here at all. The forums don’t move fast enough and all of the core devs and moderators do a great job at keeping their eyes on things.
In reply to: Move support to wordpress.orgThanks for the feedback.
In reply to: Please fix my profile – Page not foundhttps://buddypress.org/community/members/CJ%20kruger/activity/just-me/
We have username compatibility enabled on the .org sites. We have more users affected by the inverse issue to yours, so you’re a bit stuck until we figure a way to use both. It’s an old problem frankly, so it might be time to look for a new solution.
In reply to: BUDDYPRESS.ORG SEARCH BROKENI deleted it. The issue has been reported countless times already with us asking not to report it anymore. We are working on it.
In reply to: HEY! Where did the BP-Media support forum go??I’ve read and reread everyone’s opinions, and I appreciate the feedback.
In reply to: Sitewide Forums are broken.Like @mercime alluded to, it’s safe to assume the integration issues are in your theme.
In reply to: customize the buddypress admin barAnything is possible, but if you’re not able to make (or learn how to make) these changes yourself then it’s time to hire someone to do it for you.
In reply to: There’s no “Sign-up” optioncontact me asap
That isn’t how this works; no one is going to email you to help you. I suggest you check the codex or these forums for people having a similar issue.
As a general hint, create a WordPress page and then set it in your BuddyPress settings.
In reply to: Site-wide Forums – bbPress deprecation errorsIf it’s going to take bbPress in excess of 4 weeks to fix a seemingly simple bug with help menus, I’m not too confident about keeping the software installed.
If you have the time and the means to create a patch, by all means feel free to do so.
In reply to: Can buddypress handle 30k+ users?Scale isn’t just about volume of data. Assuming infinite hardware is available, anything can scale.
In reply to: should i use buddyPressBuddyPress can handle whatever you need it to. That said, it is not a turn-key community ecommerce solution, and you’ll need to patch plugins in, create s custom theme, etc… As long as you use BuddyPress/WordPress as the engine that powers your idea rather than the solution to all your problems, it makes perfect sense to start here. If you expect to install a few plugins, turn it loose, and have your ideas come to life, sadly it won’t be that easy.
