In reply to: next version of bpIn reply to: BuddyPress Mobile Theme
Installed but missing the navigation at the top. The plugin Add All Nav Links to BP Adminbar is enabled but I have the ‘main navigation’ enabled.
Will keep lurking about …
URL: http://www.thechembook.com <– use the iPhone to see the plugin
In reply to: Log IP addressesYou might take a look at this function:
In reply to: Buddypress 1.2.6, 2 months late -.-Thank you! That is far easier.
In reply to: Buddypress 1.2.6, 2 months late -.-Since I’m a huge novice on SVN. Tortoise is installed, made subdirectory, do I point to
https://svn.buddypress.org/trunk/
then choose a revision or HEAD revision so that I only get 1.2 and not 1.3?
In reply to: Topic marking – solved/not solvedMost likely after the release of bbpress as a plugin then people will start looking into ways to enhance the forums. This is probably first quarter 2011.
In reply to: New theme – now availableLooks nice. Can you enlarge the avatar in the upper left, then below the avatar add profile button (linking to profile) next to the logout button?
In reply to: Buddypress 1.2.6, 2 months late -.-To add – there is a statement on the roadmap which reads, “Due date is only to force the order of milestones and does not reflect any actual release schedule.”
Second on the plugin by @nuprn1
Check your BP settings and see if you disabled commenting: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-general-settings
See last option: “Disable activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts?”
In reply to: Group Forum As Default PageYou may want to view this topic.

Redirect the reply to the forum post works well. You can see here (http://www.thechembook.com/chemistrycircle/) that the kids may ask in a forum post but the reply in the activity stream takes them back to the forum post and stops the replying in the activity stream.
Thank you. There is so much to learn about css.
@hnla – thank you.
So, the proper css for the function would be:
`ul.activity-list li.highlightpost-mine {
background: #ebf7ff url(/images/ctr.png) no-repeat;
background-position:100% 99%;
padding: 4px;
-moz-border-radius: 6px;
-webkit-border-radius: 6px;
-moz-box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #ebf7ff;
-webkit-box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #ebf7ff;
margin:40px;
}div.activity-comments ul li {
background: #ebf7ff url(/images/ctr.png) no-repeat;
background-position:100% 99%;
padding: 4px;
-moz-border-radius: 6px;
-webkit-border-radius: 6px;
-moz-box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #ebf7ff;
-webkit-box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #ebf7ff;
}`Thank you!
This is the function added:
`function my_activity_css_class( $class ) {
global $bp, $activities_template;if ( $activities_template->activity->user_id == 1 )
return trim( $class .’ highlightpost-mine’ );return $class;
}
add_filter( ‘bp_get_activity_css_class’, ‘my_activity_css_class’ );`This is the css put with that code and the css sort of works in the activity stream but is not beautiful.
`ul.activity-list li.highlightpost-mine {
background-color:#ebf7ff;
}`It’s late so maybe next weekend.
After some help on other issues, this one is back to the forefront. The suggestion for a div tag seems reasonable, except the particulars are not very clear.
This was done in the forums using functions:
`function my_forum_is_first_post() {
global $topic_template;if ( $topic_template->post->post_position == 1 )
return true;
return false;
}function my_admin_post() {
global $topic_template;if ( $topic_template->post->poster_id == 1 || $topic_template->post->poster_id == 117 || $topic_template->post->poster_id == 126 )
return true;
return false;
}`In reply to: [Resolved] Clean up ProfileResolved.
Removed in /child-theme/members/single/member-header.php
`@ ?`
In reply to: [Resolved] Clean up ProfileOK. Found thread to turn off autolinking in profile and it works great.
`function remove_xprofile_links() {
remove_filter( ‘bp_get_the_profile_field_value’, ‘xprofile_filter_link_profile_data’, 50, 2 );
}
add_action( ‘plugins_loaded’, ‘remove_xprofile_links’ );`But now I need to get rid of that @ LPH …
In reply to: Adding Custom Fields to members-loop.php doesnt workWriting from ignorance but should the Field Name start with the capital letter P?
`bp_member_profile_data( ‘field=Province’ )`
In reply to: Activity Stream Design LayoutThank you and good to know.
CSS is not my “thing” so maybe this could be done in a test installation using Dreamweaver. Since XAMPP is installed on a machine, maybe it’s time to fire it up and tinker with the /activity folder in a child theme. Unless someone else comes along and says “Ooo, good idea.” Hehe.
Do you have a link?
If you do not want to use FTP then you might try yoursite.com/wp-admin/theme-install.php and search for Facelook.
Are you updating through automatic or FTP? Do you have a caching plugin installed?
If caching plugin installed then disable it then try to update files via FTP.
Alternatively, reinstall your backup.

In reply to: Removing the ”view” link from the activity stream@pcwriter – The function posted by @rogercoathup was used to get rid of the “view” link and the steam on TheChemBook has an added reply button for forum posts using the function found in this forum topic: http://etivite.com/groups/buddypress/forum/topic/how-did-you-add-the-view-blogpost-button/#topic — this directs the browser to the forum topic so their reply doesn’t just end up in the activity stream.
You are welcome on the bp-wp-navbar code email. That plugin could be a real winner once that bug is tracked down and squashed.
PS. Your code prompted learning more about Codelobster and php. Infact, XAMPP was installed just so that more php code be learned. Thank you.
In reply to: Removing the ”view” link from the activity streamThank you. The function works like a charm and gives a cleaner activity stream.
