@mercime replied to the topic Site not showing now in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 9 months ago
@iconimagery first thing to do is change to WordPress default theme and deactivate all plugins including BuddyPress. I see that you’re using some plugins which have not been updated for latest WP and BP versions, e.g. plugin not updated for the past two years.
When the site’s home page is working again, activate BuddyPress only, change to…[Read more]

@mercime replied to the topic Group forum gives error 500 when creating new post in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 9 months ago
@otaibia_traveler first, you need to provide more information about your installation. Is this a new install with WP 3.5.1, BP 1.7 and bbPress 2.3? If so, did you install your Group Forum per information found at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ ?

@mercime replied to the topic Private forum page not found error in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 9 months ago
@xprt007 so basically when you say latest WP 3.5.1, BP 1.7 and now bbPress 2.3, right? If your group is set to Private then the Group Forum created via https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ should be private as well. So the question is, how did you set up your forum for that group?

@mercime replied to the topic Template of this forum in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 9 months ago
@tbermudas templates for support forums at BuddyPress.org and bbPress.org are custom-made for the site. For starters though, you can create a Page Template for the Forums home page, add the topics shortcode for content. For sidebar, you would look at bbp_list_forums() and output what you need. This question would be better addressed at…[Read more]

@larouchj this looks more to be a WordPress issue and how you’re going to adapt your theme’s layout to what you want to do above. Do also post this at the WordPress forums https://wordpress.org/support/forum/themes-and-templates

I’m new to buddypress but believed a login and register link would be placed in the header by default?
Not by default. It depends on the the design by theme author.
However, instead do I need to insert my own links or buttons within the header.php to make this work?
Yes. You would need to create those. See lines 8 through 59 of h…[Read more]

I recall this same issue was caused by plugin/s related to Activity streams. @vaas have you tried deactivating other plugins one by one or batch by batch except BuddyPress to check which one is causing the issue?

@mercime replied to the topic [Resolved] How do I show member actions like log-in, change password? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 9 months ago
@jcollier not quite sure what you mean. There’s the login link in the Admin toolbar which goes to wp-login.php. Then when user is logged in, BP user links are available in My Account dropdown from Admin toolbar. Are you using a custom theme?

@mercime replied to the topic Activity – "Post Update" button never stops in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 9 months ago
@ramirocastro have you tried re-uploading BuddyPress manually via s/FTP for example? Looks like some files have not been uploaded completely. If that doesn’t work, WP/BP versions, single WP or multisite? If MS, BP in domain root or in subdirectory/subdomain?

@number_6 you can change “Your Friends” widget title in sidebar.php and sidebar-buddypress.php files in your theme. Please clarify, not quite sure what the issue is per image you attached which is not related to widgets at all.
