In reply to: Buddypress & Continuum Theme…Help!!!
@doncgarner as Hugo mentioned above, we have a list of walkthroughs aka “template-packed” WordPress in the Codex. Here’s the link for the Continuum theme before http://wp.me/p1I84P-36
In reply to: How to add extra sidebars outside the container?@buddies we were supposed to continue the assistance in the WPorg forums because this is not BuddyPress-related at all. Posting in both forums is not only confusing but does not lead to a solution. I’m closing this topic and we’ll continue this at WPorg.
In reply to: [Resolved] Need guidance about member links@seriousdon you’d need another forward slash in front of your comment before the code like so http://pastebin.com/HSpJNLyV
In order to place the dynamic profile link at the beginning of the menu change this following line from
$menu = $menu . $profilelink;
to
$menu = $profilelink . $menu; In reply to: Group moderator are not able to edit, delete group@sapna1809 as noted in the trac ticket I linked to above it’s being considered for BP 1.6.3
Please be patient. Thanks.@latinoleader where is the code for your page.php file?
In reply to: Problem with creating new blog(unless you’re using “blogs” as the slug for “Site Activity” possibly… haven’t tested that).
@masonjames Yes, I’ve always used blogs as the slug in all my installations so never had that issue, thank goodness. Thank you for the clarification and for posting the trac ticket 🙂
Have great weekend!
@latinoleader Open up your theme’s header.php file, copy all code, post to pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated URI here. Do the same for your theme’s page.php, index.php, sidebar.php, and footer.php files.
Yes it will.
In reply to: Problem with creating new blog@masonjames Thanks for sharing. Curious. What version of BP and WP are you using?
Using BP Default theme in one multisite and a child theme of BP default in another, I go to Blogs Directory page example.com/blogs/ and click on the “Create a Site” button which goes to example.com/blogs/create/ since my default slug for the Blogs page is blogs. From wp-admin, creating a new site goes to example.com/wp-admin/network/site-new.phpIn reply to: Action for Removing Member from groupgroups_remove_member
In reply to: Buddy Mobile plugin deprecated? The plugin developer removed his plugin from the WP plugin repository for reasons known only to himself.
In reply to: How to add extra sidebars outside the container?Sure thing. Happy theming 🙂
In reply to: Action for Removing Member from groupYou don’t want to remove the member via single Group > Admin > Members? Or are you considering removing a handful of members from the group/s?
In reply to: How to add extra sidebars outside the container? No it’s not. I didn’t notice that you wanted those sidebars outside the wrapper.
I have provided some basic instructions at http://pastebin.com/vtdLX2pM
Adjust widths to taste. At this point I leave you with link to good tutorial on adding sidebars to theme http://justintadlock.com/archives/2010/11/08/sidebars-in-wordpressFor questions on how to improve layout, please post at WordPress.org forums.
In reply to: Reply IssuesThe reply and threaded issues are fixed in upcoming BP release.
In reply to: No BuddyPress Admin BarI looked in that folder but there’s no footer.php file
Deactivate BuddyPress. If your admin toolbar is still missing in action, you’d need to contact theme author re possibly missing/misplaced wp_footer hook required.
In reply to: No BuddyPress Admin BarFirst thing, did you go through the Installation Wizard? You didn’t answer above.
Second, what theme are you using? Can you access your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/ and double-check for footer.php or are you using a child theme?
Third, re admin toolbar, look in Settings > BuddyPress > Settings if you unchecked “Show the Toolbar for logged out users”
In reply to: h3 repeating on group directory page@jaehouse If you are using Genesis or child theme thereof, I recall that you need to install the Genesis Connect plugin and not the BP template pack plugin.
In reply to: How to remove header image in BP columns?@acfurino this should be in wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php file http://pastebin.com/HxNAxvBK
Should for any reason that doesn’t work for you, delete bp-custom.php and add the code (without the opening and closing ) in your theme’s functions.php file right under the opening < ?php
In reply to: Group moderator are not able to edit, delete groupGroup Moderators cannot delete groups. As to Admin items like Group Name/Descriptions, Group Mods should be able to do that.
EDIT – trac ticket created https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4737
In reply to: Shortcuts for top menu?Something got lost in translation. To reiterate, the code to the dynamic link in the menu will only show up when user is logged in, so we’re on the same page 🙂
It works perfectly but it is in the wrong position in the menu of our particular site.
How is it in the wrong position?
In reply to: Adding Terms of Service To RegistrationI haven’t used either of the plugins. If you can code, then do so. That way, you’re not dependent on anybody when you need to upgrade to new WP/BP version. As far as I know WPMUDev plugins are GPL. BP 1.7 is coming up soon and I don’t know if the $19 covers upgrades. Best thing is to inquire about upgrades to plugin in their contact form.
In reply to: Possibilities in Education@lauramgamedeskorg Check out http://commonsinabox.org/ a customized WP/BP package which could help you
URI of BP template page which is not responsive and URI of a flare page with the layout you copied onto BP template would be good to help ID what was missed in the customization.
In reply to: How to add extra sidebars outside the container?Since you’re using Twenty Ten, check out how to make it 3 columns at http://aaron.jorb.in/thirtyten/2010/how-thirty-ten-converts-twenty-ten-to-three-columns/
